Dat snake: http://i.imgur.com/SMmtGrz.png I kinda like the new OP song as well. Nadeko looks great in it imo. I feel for Nadeko and her depression though ;.; Great to see Oshino Ougi this episode too. She's sort of what I imagined her to be. I loved the style of the ED song as well. |

| 0.0 WOW. That was one hell of an intro scene. And I love how the new opening is more dark and ominous compared to the others this season. Also love how it's backwards to the nadeko snake opening (Walking backwards, taking off the headband, and probably many more I haven't caught) I gotta get my hands on the juicy OST <3 5/5 |
| In pretty much every fight Koyomi has ever been in, he's been brutally beaten and never really touches his opponent, so I wasn't surprised to see that trend continue at the beginning of the episode. |
| holy ****, nadeko is the antagonist in her own arc, but i think the trigger for it all is her meeting with oshino ougi... EDIT: what i meant was how i like she was portrayed as an antagonist in her own arc, i already read a little bit of spoilers before |

| Great start, I am really excited for this arc. I liked how the new Nadeko OP was the exact opposite of her OP from bakemonogatari, it really seems to fit the general mood so far. Kinda curious about the lyrics aswell. |
| Surprise surprise, with a single episode Nadeko has transformed into a more compelling character than she had been during all the time up until now, quite literally even. ► The themes for this arc appear to be victimhood and responsibility. Whereas five episodes were needed for Hanekawa to realize what she has been surpressing unconsciously we already get to see the end of the process Nadeko will be going through. Not being able to think of anything problematic that could have triggered the snake incidents or even searching for a cause within herself we get to see how she puts all the blame for what's happened on herself in the intro, doing exactly what the apparition has ordered her to do, which is to atone. Ironically this has turned her from the victim she has been portrayed as during all this time into a perpetrator, and the following episodes will have to fill the gaps to explain her change of mind (and body). Also notice how she doesn't even try to beg for foregiveness (as the apparition pointed out correctly) when she encounters the giant snake while she apologizes several times when Koyomi calls her out on one odd but otherwise inconspicious remark of her. ► I'm under the impression that this episode has been much more dialogue-heavy than usual though I don't mind personally as it helped to flesh out Nadeko's personality. What struck me the most is how isolated she is. She has been the one with the least amount of interactions with anybody from the main cast to begin with and the inclusion of her anonymised class mates (an anomaly in the Monogatari universe with perpetually empty streets and building aside from the main characters) showcased how withdrawn and distant Nadeko is from them in reality rather than making the scenes more lively. Going to school is an unpleasant experience for her and human interactions with anyone, even with Koyomi, are defined by her social anxiety. In this regard she really resembles Tomoko from WataMote though their outer appearance couldn't differ more. ► Ougi Oshino remains as ominious as ever. Even with her more friendly approach compared to how she spoke to Koyomi she feels oddly out of place with her over-sized school uniform and lifeless eyes and her last few sentences can't be perceived as anything but as menacing. The pendulum and Nadeko's remark on how more time has passed than she had thought seem to suggest that she has some hypnotizing ability. Who knows maybe she's even the one who triggered the whole thing with her talk about staying a victim and hinting at some skeletons Nadeko might have in her closet, making her more than the innocent victim she has been depicted as (I do wonder if it will be revealed what Nadeko tried to hide from Koyomi in her actual closet back in Nisemonogatari). ► The visuals for the new ED look great btw, depicting Medusa Nadeko descending in an elevator-like chamber down the ocean and falling into a deep slumber. In contrast the OP feels almost nauseously twisted with the mud-like colour palette and uncanny song. |

| I've been waiting for more content on Nadeko-chan and it's finally here :D I love the -monogatari series for having such a awesome cast of characters; everyone, bar no one, is interesting. Even the adorable Sengoku who didn't have much content earlier is now in the spotlight. LOVE THIS SERIES <3 |

| It's funny that they made Nadeko's OP look very similar to her Bakemonogatari OP. BTW could someone tell me the name of the song? Ougi pisses me off. She always tells the right things but in most unfitting time, making things worser. |

| Damn the intro of the episode, that was unexpected, and so gory. So the the start of Nadeko's arc with the new opening and ending, looks promising. I have a feeling something bad is going to happen when Nadeko cooperating with Kuchinawa. |

Oh, I probably shoud have elaborated more on that matter. I didn't intend to make it sound like these two characters' problems were comparable by any means but rather the way we, the audience, got to witness their progress throughout their respective arcs. As to the themes I pointed out it it's just speculation anyway since I'm not familiar with the source material but since they were brought up so often in this episode I assumed these would be the main elements concerning Nadeko's grouwth as a character. |

| Dat intro O_O!! DAMN FRIGGIN EPIC!! Koyomi was all broken and stuff and then *BAM* Splat went his heart XD Dat gore O_O XD And Dat Yandere Nadeko O_o?! Then the OP was really nice. Best one of this season so far. Kana-chan <3 I'm really loving Ougi. She's an enigma for me and I really wanna know more about her ^^...Like Vanishingkira said..the things she said this ep had me intrigued about her origin. The second part was more calm before the storm material so I didn't mind it especially since I love Nadeko-chan <3...I really felt bad for her this ep. Well Shit is gonna get real!!! Can't wait to see how everything will lead to that event :D Btw for LN readers... |
