Manga Barakamon will get an anime adaptation, according to the official Twitter of the manga. The manga started as a one-shot in 2008, but popular feedback resulted in its serialization on the online manga website Gangan Online in early 2009. So far, seven volumes have been published and volume 8 will be published on September 21st. Format, schedule, staff, and cast information has not yet been disclosed.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

The manga author actually grew up in an island off Nagasaki so he based his manga on the interesting people he grew up with and how they lead their lives.

I really like this series, it has a lot of Yotsuba& vibes to it.
And since Yotsuba& might not ever be animated, this will have to do haha

This is what I was thinking of especially with Naru, that little girl. Yeah this will be a pretty good substitute for sure.

I guess there will be some fun character interactions to look forward to then. I'm liking Naru's character design, she looks a lot like Ami from Idolm@ster.

Looks like a decent enough slice-of-life anime. Just hope they don't make the main character one of those sane men who just feel the need to yel at everything, but as long as they don't, it should be pretty good.
