| If you care only about chronology, you should go with: Zero -> Prologue -> FSN / UBW If you want to go with the order that would correspond with the VN you should go with: Prologue -> FSN -> UBW -> Zero Now, some explanations. 1) Prologue before FSN. I know it technically belongs to UBW, but the Prologue is just the first few days told from Rin's perspective which establishes and explains the world and events a little and is the same for all routes. For this reason I think it should be watched first. And yes, FSN incorporates events of the Prologue in its first episode, but it's a poorly paced patchwork at best and leaves much to be desired. 2) When to watch Zero. Well, it's a prequel to all the VN routes so you can watch it first, but just because something is a prequel doesn't mean you should necessarily watch it first (monogatari series). It deals with the events of the previous Holy Grail War which is mostly focused on and gradually revealed in the Fate route of the VN. However, FSN adaptation which mainly corresponds to the Fate route patchworked in some events from the other routes and the revelations concerning the previous Grail War are pushed to the backseat. Zero also prematurely reveals information about some characters regardless of VN route. So, if you want to avoid any and all spoilers you should watch FSN and UBW first, otherwise it doesn't really matter. For ideal experience you should read the VN before watching anything. |

Another thing is that the UBW route is in truth not a good adaptation as far as characters are concerned .It didn't properly showcase the sides of its cast .The main problem in the adaptation itself is the protagonist .To many on this site he seems like a bland person but that's due to UfoTable's adaptation effort .If you find him insufferable then I recommend rewatching the series and then looking at why he does what he does and not what it is that he does . The movie is even worse .For the details on the Nasuverse (Fate's world) worldbuilding and explanation of the powers used in it you can go to this site : http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/TYPE-MOON_Wiki Some questions might be asked at how certain things happened so the link should come in handy .Ultimately I'd say you should read the VN but I doubt you'd want to sit through 50 hours of material . |

| Set you anime list to show when was the certain anime premiered. And then start from the earliest one... Because it is logical to watch the first aired anime and then one aired like 2 years later, even if it's the first one's prequel (monogatari series cough cough!!) |
