The stats are very easy. They go from 1 to 10 and require points. The number of starting points is calculated like this:

40- number of seat= amount of points you have.

So, seat 1 has 40-1=39 points, seat 2 has 38 points and so on....

Seat and amount of points:
Zanjutsu: how well you are with your zanpakuto. you need 4 points to unlock shi kai, and 8 points to unlcok bankai.
Hoho: your power of hoho techniques. you need 8 points to unlock flash steps.
Hakudo: how well you are at hand to hand combat
Kido: how well you are at utilising the shinigami spells.
Spirit size: how much reiryoku you have.
