I have been learning japanese for quite some time now, and i find it to be very difficult. If there are any japanese speakers here or people who knows some knowledge of japanese that are interested in helping me, i would really appreciate it :)

Please inbox me if you are really willing to.

I knew some, then things happened and I stopped studying and now I barely remember anything. I do plan on starting up again, especially now that I know several fluent-in-English JP people who I help with English that could help me with Japanese.

But not for now. Too lazy now.

I wish i knew japanese people that are fluent in english. Learning japanese would then be so much easier!

I've heard of websites where you can get into contact with people in Japan who want to learn english and they'll learn you japanese in return. Now I wouldn't know where to find these websites...but I heard about them.

I think so. You'd talk with each other over emails 'n stuff. Again I've only heard about this from somebody I've never seen it myself.

I never used anything like that, but I think lang-8 is something worth looking into. I remember it coming up before on Tae-Kim's grammar guide which is basically the best thing for that stuff, so I figure that site is probably legit if he recommended it.

You could also just look into general language learning communities for other people learning JP as a foreign lagnauge: Tae Kim's site has forums, memrise, things like that. You'll mostly find other foreigners, but having more people to practice and have there to ask questions to is always good.

Japanese fucking love twitter, so I generally find them through that and/or nico live streams. Them knowing English on any worth mentioning level is just luck of the draw.

Do you know what 大河 means?

I do, because I had a conversation with some Japanese guy/girl.

I also want to learn Japanese, but it's unlikely I will.

... What? xD

Anyway, I've been studiyng Japanese for two years at university and doing great on exams... but nonetheless I feel like I don't actually know Japanese at all. It's difficult to learn it at school, I can't even imagine how can people study it as autodidacts. (that's why for now the best thing I can do is apply for a scholarship to study in Okinawa... =.=)
So, my best advice is to join a Japanese course, with a native speaker who can personally tutor you, help you correct your pronunciation and study those damn kanji =.= At least if you're really interested...

I would say something that always helps when learning a language is trying to think in that language every day. Even thinking of the most simple things in Japanese like "I am thirsty" or whatever will help you improve.

This helped me a lot when I was learning English, and French (though I've forgotten most of it already). So I intend to use this method when I start learning Japanese this year.

Anyways, good luck!

I can speak Japanese. Actually, I tried taking JLPT N1, L1, L2, and only passed L2 long time ago. (So... does that mean I'm fluent?) I practice translating Japanese into English since 6 years ago.

Learning Japanese could be one of my lifetime objective. It could possibly lead to some interesting careers. But I will still need to work at McDonald or something similar because I need money to get education (/.*)

So, my known language order would be:
1st: French (my native language)
2nd: English
3rd: Japanese

Then if I would start travelling:
1st: English
2nd: French
3rd: Japanese

And finally, if I was going to Japan to work there:
1st: Japanese
2nd: English
3rd: French

Also, Interpals is an other website I would recommend for language exchange.
