I guess the first place to start would be that fact that I'm a fan of both Satoshi Hino and Rie Kugimiya. I like the genres that are mixed within Zero no Tsukaima. My favourite type of characters are Tsunderes. It has a lot of delicious lolis, which I like. Brilliant music and OSTs all round. Not many Anime can keep you fully entertained for 4 seasons. That's what I got off the top of my head. Like I said, it's not easy to explain. |

I watched Mirai Nikki before Evangelion and could not care for that lead, but as you said, Shinji offers something more. |
