I always get a little post-anime depressed when an anime I love ends, but it also applies to video games and novels, too. Then I will spend some time reminiscing on it, and perhaps listen to some OST and watch some scenes, and soon enough I'll move on to a new anime, and probably repeat that again, haha.

Pretty much this. I try to space out the time between animes by focusing on work or school, otherwise I get too into it emotionally.

This is not a bad thing.

If you have enough time to pick another good series, you'll forget about the void left by your favourite anime.

I always imagine myself getting sad after finishing a great series, but that's just a temporary feeling which lasts just for as long as for me to get into another series.

I started watching another one. What is with you people?

Being a well adjusted person able to move on from fiction effortlessly is boring.

Sounds like an empty life.

Quite an adventure I am missing there, apperently.

Quite an adventure I am missing there, apparently.

Indeed. I personally can't stand apathy and disinterest. It makes my life feel meaningless.

Which is really problematic because I have trouble feeling strong emotions in the first place.

Try to focus on strong lack of emotions.

Easy. I either pick a new, well-made, series, or I just watch some mindless moe, and let the Moe Moe Kyun take over...

Moe Moe Moe Moe Moe Moe KYUN!
It's natural for a person to deny he's a failure as a human being. That's why he searches for somebody who is more miserable than himself. That's why so much animosity exists on the internet. Those who aren't able to find a more miserable person, turn to the internet and call other people losers, even though they've never met. Just to make themselves feel superior. isn't that pathetic? There's a sense of security that comes from speaking badly of someone else. But that isn't true salvation. — Tatsuhiro Satou

That sounds like a paradox. Unless we consider emptiness/apathy an emotion. How do you even feel strong nothing? Wouldn't it just mean feeling even less?

I've never experienced such apathy, so... I doubt that apathy itself is not an emotion though, emotions are but states. I would say apathy itself is an emotion such as boredom but since I never experienced it, it would merely be an assumption.

If as I said, emotions are states created by the presence of different amounts of chemical compounds it would end up like colors. You know, colors occur out of the presence of three compounds, main colors. Having no color compound, no rbd creates black. Some would say it is a color and some would say it is not.

Watch a different (good) anime. I put good in parentheses because most anime I watch I enjoy to some degree, but watching another, good anime will forget the void. That and anticipating more from that franchise.

Visit the wikis, see if there is a sequel, and if not read the manga or novel it was based on, or just reflect for a while and move on to the next one.

After watching Code Geass: Walk around mindlessly, reflecting on that ending.
After watching Clannad After Story: sit in the corner of my room and shiver.
After watching Gurren Lagann: Beat the shit out of my best friend and say "JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!"
So I tend to experience a certain void, yes.

- Download all the music and just listen to it, while I do other stuff
- Look at fanart and read fanfiction
- Browse through the tumblr tag endlessly

And if it has an adaption or source material, I try to hunt it down and read it. If I can't, I go through websites trying to find where to buy it.

My heart feels empty like "there will never be another anime anything like that ever again!"

Then I scroll on it's tumblr tag for a while feeling sad.

Then I watch something new.

I felt like that for Durarara!, Working!!, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Tsuritama, Steins;gate, and maybe others

Once you've seen a penis shoved into your favorite anime character it's all ruined. It will never be the same.

Did you spend a few days in depression town? Or did you somehow get over it within a day? What anime was it? Did you spend some time looking through wikia articles, forums etc.?

share your experience here.

I don't get depressed, I actually feel pretty good about having completed something. Unless of course the show was a sad one.

I obsessed over that anime for a few days (looking up AMVs, re-watching episodes and such) and then woke up one day looking for a new anime to watch.

lol I use to spend hours searching for anime thats just as good only to never find one... I finally just told myself I was wasting time... so I ended up watching One Piece based on a recommendation and the next few months blew by while I caught up :D

Edit: Btw I'm pretty sure it was Introverturtled's recommendation that got me into it

Well when my favourite anime finishes,I usually go check out the manga and continue from there. It's not always the same though.Sometimes I'll also re-watch some of my favourite episodes from the anime or ask for anime similar to *insert favourite anime* to watch.
