... I'm not quite sure about whether or not the title is grammatically correct, but who cares.

When i was like 5-6 years old, i got a playstation 1 and what i believe was crash bandicoot 2. Ever since, I've been a huge fan of the Crash series, and played all the games multible times. Some of them: LOTS of times!

I still play the games regularly... not because there's a whole lot more to do and explore, but because it makes me relax and just feels nice you know :P?

Am i wierd xD???

Nah, it's not weird, I've been playing video games since I'm 6 years old, and I can't stop playing video games now.. There's a lot of anime fans are actually gamers in MAL.. so don't think you're weird

Kinda how I feel with Parasite Eve, it was one of the first games I played as a kid (I think 9 or 10) that was just amazing to me despite being a horror game its relaxing to play.....okay maybe horror is stretched as its not really scary. Played it several times and still see no sign of getting bored of it.

I wouldn't call it an obsession, it's more like having a favorite game/series. Happens to everyone.

Well obviously any gamer will have favorites, perfectly normal. Just a matter of how strongly they show it.

Personally I've been playing serious shooters/rpgs/rts's since I was 4 years old so I definitely have a lot of nostalgia from even the earliest childhood memories towards some games. That being said I wouldn't say I was ever actually "obsessed" with any game.

Like rewatching anime, I have a few games that I sometimes feel like I want to go back to. It is comforting when I feel sort of anxious and unmotivated (the damn it all to hell kind of feel). I just don't really do it that often, because in terms of games (mostly rpgs) I still have a fair amount of gems to discover.

Some games that have sentimental value for me: Broken Sword I & II, Morrowind, FF VII

I loved the old mascot platformer/adventure games. Nope that's completely normal. Sadly many of my childhood favorites haven't aged so gracefully :)

Disgaea 1-3 Played each one several times on console and handheld, haven't played the new ones because I lack a PS3 due to static shock :/

That game is like crack for me, I've spent at least 400 hours on each playthrough with some reaching near the 1000 mark. No multiplayer at all either.

Maplestory. Each year I start Maplestory, then end it; and switch private servers.

But Counter Strike, I'll never get tired of Counter Strike. C'mon, it's Counter Strike.

Games that are sandbox-y and dynamic

I have 3500 hours on garry's mod and god knows what on civilization 5, when I open that game I lose track of time and before I know it 10 hours have passed.

Linear story games never appealed to me, I rarely even finish them. I prefer the idea of building your own story up or gameplay.

I am sorta obsessed with the Phoenix Wright games. I've played through the whole series at least 4 times, even though it's the most linear thing ever.

Monster hunter 3 700+ hours spend into that game.
Xenoblade Chronicles, the longest, biggest and best jrpg ever. My first playtrough took me 120 hours. 2nd playtrough doubled it.

Kingdom Hearts 2; Beaten it 7 times.
Kingdom Hearts 3D; The best game in the series.

Shit released last year, have beaten it 4 times already. The new game plus is really nice.

One of my most favorite games was Super Smash Bros. Melee. My nephew and I played that everyday and it was so much fun back then. Sadly I think it was only on Gamecube and we don't have that anymore. But yeah if it was available for PS3, I would grab right away

I wasted 7 years of my life on FFXI.

Aside from when I had to work, I'd do other stuff....play other games...watch anime..........go outside, maybe get in a light workout so I didn't completely veg...but the majority of my free time was spent in Vana'Diel.

I've immersed myself in games before...but that shit took dedication.

We all have those nostalgic games that we just aren't able to part with. Mine would probably be Red Alert 2 as I regularly come back to that game every now and then and always find myself spending hours on the same campaigns I've beaten years ago.

Pokemon counts right?
Because I've gotten one or more game from every standard generation since Red, and have probably played more than 200 hours on each gen.
Admittedly, the obsession has mostly died out and I haven't actually bothered completing the pokedex since Emerald. Relying on pokesav and such also makes for a more relaxed experience in the newer games.

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter.
Bought it not too long ago and now I find myself having played a Japanese browser game in the series its in, find myself watching and waiting for news on the next game in the series, want to buy one of the games in the series on PS1, and want to buy art books for the game.

Also, Zelda games to an extent. I mean, I like almost every game, try to play almost every game, and bought Hyrule Historia.

I'd probably still play NS if it hadn't been shut down. The game had bad graphics, was unbalanced and had a low playerbase.. but I still loved it. The only thing I can do now is look at pictures and listen to the BGM for the nostalgia.

-Empire earth(RTS)
Bought it back in 3th grade.
I spend around 4000 hours on it, in total. Its the game that turned me into a history geek

-WoW
Bought it when it came out, going by my /played time from all of my characters. It adds up to more than 5000 hours.

-Total war
I've bought all of the total war games(already pre-ordered Rome II), aside from the shogun ones.

-EU III + IV(+ pther paradox grand strategy games).
I only started with EU III a few years ago, I spend around 500 hours in it.
The replaybility of EU is amazing, with 400+ years of history and 100's of countries to choose from. and dat' amazing OST.
And the crusader kings save convertor improves the lifespan of both games(CK II and EU IV) by a lot. First spend 200-300~ years in CKII and then convert into a EUIV save game for another 400~ years.
EU IV only came out a few days ago, and i've already spend dozens of hours on it, the CKII save convertor really came in handy. It was to be-able to convert my Byzantine empire/eastern Roman empire save game into EUIV.

Gotta love changing history in grand strategy games. You know, by restoring the Roman empire.

And also any online game where I developed friendships, like Ragnarok Online for example.

LOL WUT at Byzantine Empire, I haven't bought EUIV yet, so I'm bit jealous..
btw, games like EU and CK for me have the best replayability value.

Dragon Quest Monsters. I borrowed the 1st game from a friend for some time, and fell in love with it. Beat it 3 or 4 times, then spent so many hours that I pretty much made a perfect team. I also played and beat all of the others in the series, save Caravan Heart and the new 3D one(no localized ver.)

Ragnarok Online...started around 4th grade, and still play it (after a long hiatus). The BGMs always induce nostalgia. Truly one of the best MMOs of its time...at least until Renewal.

Civilization games. I have been hooked since I got my hands on a copy of Civ 2 many years back. Though it also helps that Firaxis doesn't usually disappoint too much with any game of the series.
It could have been easily the same with AoE had Microsoft hadn't made that abomination that was AoE3 and AoE Online and decided to close down Ensemble Studios.

Also one of the few games that can be fun without actually playing them.

I just make a few changes to the game(giving more benefits to the AI on the very hard setting). Then turn on random lucky nations, put the A.I at very aggressive and then pick a country that won't get attacked. And then let the blobbing unfold.

Oh the joys of see'ing Ethiopia(light blue) get this big.

I used to have a huge video game addiction, but it's died down in recently. I remember about a year ago, I would wake up at 6 on Saturday mornings just to play Skyrim until 2 in the afternoon. Or I would play Fallout 3 for hours and go to bed at like 1 in the morning. Nowadays, I can only play a game for like an hour.

However, I wouldn't say it's weird that you like playing video games, a lot of people do it.

My first game was Puzzle Bobble. It's a kids game but from then on (and the influence of my brother) I started to play games like Tekken, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy. So basically I've been playing for 15 years since I was 5?

Gaming is my first love besides anime.
