| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Funny episode. Seems like the era that this OVA took place @ is more of the Edo period. I think everyone's outfits looked kawaii though. Haru and his long hair lol.... Dat blush:  God I miss this series. Oh and I miss Shizuki along with the others like Natsume. Shizuku blushing was cute as well. I also found the golden chicken kinda amusing. Great ending with the kiss <333 |

| Taisho period, actually (at least that's what I heard). The characters are the same even in the different time setting. lol @ Hanazawa-san's character, who's hime, is strong and got huge stone to uncle, then caused Haru and Yasu argue as always. lol @ can check DNA, Chicken being the alien, how Harunosuke is taken away, etc. |

| Anyone know which group is subbing this? I tried looking at FFFansubs' site and maybe I'm not searching right but I couldn't find anything on whether they'd be covering it or not. ETA: Oh wait, they probably are. Hurray! ^-^ |

| I find myself enjoy this spinoff set in an imaginary Edo period parallel world a lot more than the original anime itself -- and this is telling. Everyone either does more or is less obnoxious here: SHIZUKU is less cold and lonesome - she actually is a responsible leader of her gang and she cares about kids and life too; HARU is not a through and through eccentric who cannot communicate but also a responsible young head of his gang who actually approaches Shizuku with care and respect; Natsume may still a baka but she can also be extremely capable in her mission; Sasahara definitely does more here; and then Yamaguchi is not a cold looking tsundere but actually displays love and loyalty to his leader Shizuku; and Ooshima is not as shy and clumsy here either. I just wonder if the personalities shown here can somehow replace the one in the anime/manga itself LOL The only flaw for this entertaining OVA is the twist near its ending. I think it just unnecessarily complicates the setting without making it funnier or appealing. Now I wonder if this story also appears in the manga? tsubasalover said: It is definitely not Taisho because that would put it in the 20th century. From the slightly tweaked 年号 (Regal era name) I could deduce that the setting was put in 18th century. Taisho period, actually (at least that's what I heard). |
| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

| Nice episode with a funny ending, not to mention all the random stuff going on. Also liked the idea of two groups being connected like that, and that anti sweets law was funny the way they used to get around it. |

| Yamaken x Shizuku forever ;_; Natsume cute as always. Yuuzan's yukata is adorable! I want a dango yukata too. Interesting, but wasn't as good as I was expecting. 7/10 |

| Mitty na anego, such a cute name by Natsume-chan. I missed my Yamashizu and Oshima x Haru. Oh God, Oshima was able to lift that stone, hahaha. Way to go, Sasayan. That ending was too overdramatic, me being anti HaruShizu made it worser for me... Still a 9/10 for me ;) |

| This OVA was wonderful. So much action and goodness in 27 minutes. Watching this reminded me of the OST that I had almost forgotten and loved. AHHH. This OVA was too amazing. Definitely going to rewatch it in the future! ^^ |

| Loved it much <3 Hahaha! Yamaken's soo funny when he can't find his way to the river. What a revelation when the chicken said that Haru was a chicken prince! LOL! I don't if I should feel swooned at the end of this OVA, 'cause its soo fuckin' funny! from Edo Period, to the conflict between Haru and Shizuku factions, to Sweets-are-forbidden rule, to the blooming love between HaruxShizuku, to Yuzan being the culprit, up to Haru being an alien. Simply funny :D |

| LOL omg when the whole chicken planet prince thing came up, I bursted out laughing. That was sooo random, but simply hilarious and unexpected. This was a very fun and cute OVA. I need more Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun :( |
| I miss this series, great to see the characters again one more time, although I've never really been a fan of Edo period spin off episodes. Fun enough, but definitely would have preferred something that contributed to the actual series. It was nice to see that the character interactions mirrored the main series though. Enjoyed the kiss at the end, go Haru. Probably going to give this a 6/10, I loved the main series but this just felt kinda boring and random. |
