| I think Maka summed it up nicely, this really is getting too gloomy. It's not to say I dislike the direction SE is currently going, but I do miss the hilarity and nonsensical stupidity from earlier in the show. The transition from easy going to serious was well done, but it doesn't stop me from wanting it back. Maka's choice to go help Crona was refreshing, it felt like things were just going to become depressing and lifeless if they kept following DWMA blindly. |

| The Death Scythe who was a weapon without a Meister turned himself into a Death Scythe at the age of 13 all alone and is a Genius vs an 800 year old weapon who doesn't require a Meister himself this is their 3rd battle. And that annoying Maka saying she's going to do things her way... She always does things her way which can be so annoying. |

| Meh. I hate seeing Maka off beat like this. I hope she picks up the pace and gets her shit together so that she stops being annoying. I like her way more when she gets things done and goes forward with full gusto. |

| That's so unlike Maka, she does get frustrated and selfish at times, but this time she became a confused emo?! All this because she believes DWMA does do something right (trying ti defeat the kishin and stopping the madness) but she doesn't like DWMA not trying to capture Stein back and throwing Chrona away. In a situation like this, that's not how to prepare oneself for the battle! It's good that Evans told Maka that both Chrona and Marie are thrown out so that the rule of not attacking Medusa doesn't apply to them. When Evans told Maka to think of her objective, I thought she would think about Making Evans a Death Scythe! |

| How convenient it is for Justin to meet that chainsaw legged guy again. Black Star is simple minded as usual. So the perfect student decided to broke the rule. Yeah not all rule are perfect. So the difference between this episode and the manga is in the manga Maka didn't break the rule and she joined this fight. |

| The siege on Baba Yaga Castle and the other relay points worldwide have started and this operation's gonna be crazy. It was pretty annoying to hear Maka worry about Stein and Crona all the time without getting to do anything so it's nice that Soul snapped her out of it and just told her to act out her intentions already. Everyone's going towards their respective goals one step at a time. |

| I don't think they delivered "Maka having doubts" that well, it felt like she was overthinking it for the sake of overthinking. |
| Crona and Marie traversing the desert was giving serious Dune energy Anyway, I know Maka was having a hard time coming to terms with the Crona/Medusa/Stein situation, but her hopelessly gloomy attitude got old really fast, especially because this isn't the first time. Earlier in the series, it seemed like they were trying to characterize Maka as the energetic leader and Soul as the broody grump but Maka is the broody one. It feels like Soul is the one constantly dragging her out of her own hopelessness despite Soul having an actual demon(?) dwelling inside his soul |
