| Big 3 used to be Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. But Bleach is pretty much dead when the anime ended. I am not talking about the manga, folks, but what I am trying to say is that Bleach-anime was pretty much forgotten, so there is no sense at calling it "one of the big three". Definitely some anime should get Bleach's place. That would definitely be Fairy Tail, but well, Fairy Tail ended too. (It didn't ended, but it has been one year or more that they are saying "OH NEXT WEEK IT'S COMING BACK!@@@@". Maybe Hunter x Hunter (2011) is going to take place. Even if its a remake, its doing a nice job as a long-running battle-shounen series. Naruto will end very soon, and in one year or less, it will be forgotten, just like what happened with Bleach, but it will be worse, because Naruto will have no running manga, it will simply be erased from the face of earth probably. But the problem is that the "Big three" is a relatively new concept, so chances are there will never be a big three again. Chances are that in one year or two, the big three will be HxH 2011, Fairy Tail and One Piece (Fairy Tail and One Piece are both made by the same author, ironic) |

| Why are both these threads talking about Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece as the "big three of anime"? They aren't - they never were. They are the big three in reference to manga only and this was always the case, the phrase never applied to their anime counterparts. |

They aren't made by the same author, but both authors had Akira Toriyama as a teacher, and both used the same female body sketchs if I remember. It seems that Oda started to make VERY different female characters in appearance now, while, If I know, FT author didn't progressed much from that. Remember that I'm talking about woman that was supposed to be beautiful in their worlds, not ugly shit - as both knows how to do this. |

The name was for these anime because they were long running and not because they were the most popular, because they weren't.(though they were popular and that could have played a part in why they made a name for themselves. You cant seriously try to fill those positions with SnK and Hunter X Hunter. btw I'm not directing this at anyone here in particular. |
