Kingdom 2nd Season Episode 9 Discussion

The episode was better than the last week. The seiyuu of Zi Jia was was great. Xin will come back for the next week. I hope, they doesn't cut a scene from of manga with Zheng. The flash back was good, but too long.

Soon, we will have more battle. This will be epic.

I can't hold my tears in the end,, oh well

Excellent conclusion to this flashback.
More emotionally impact than I thought.

Wow. This episode really hit home. Even though the flashback has spanned a few episodes, it helped flesh out the passion Zheng has for his kingship. It also made me think back to what Zheng might have had running through his mind when Wang Qi told him the 'model of a king' from the first season.

One thing I have found lacking this season is a strong musical score. While the first season's music really grabbed my attention, this season has felt below par and a bit weak. So while the end of this episode was bittersweet, I was pleased that they selected one of the more majestic, emotion-evoking scores to compliment what happened.

NOOOO!!!! Zi Xia!!!! I really have a feeling that this will happen after the 1st episode of the flashback and sadly I was right.

An interesting episode, though quite predictable.

Anyway, I'm glad this long flashback came to its end, so more Xin and battles now.

I thouhgt Zi Xia would survive T.T

Ah, Heroic deaths indeeds, so sad. I was hoping we'd see an animated battle for when the two mounted units met, hopefully we get our first large scale battle next week from the looks of the preview.

Predictable episode. I think this flashback could have been shorter but whatever at least there was a bit of action. Next episode has to have some animated battles or I'll be very disappointed because unlike the beginning episodes of S1 this hasn't got much action so far compared to S1.

I liked Zi Xia too i knew she was going to die. She probably had the saddest death in both seasons for to me.

Amazing finale to the flashback!

I had a bad feeling she wasn't going to make it, but it was a touching end to the flashback. Plenty of heroic sacrifices too.

Made me appreciate Zheng more too after all he's been through.

I was getting a bit teary eyed.. but then I thought; those guys died like Fucking heroes. Fucking brilliant.

Im really glad they explained Zheng's history. So sad but so awesome. He'll definitely become a Great King. I wish this series was done so I could marathon the entire thing, but alas the manga is still ongoing and history books are never as interesting as when told as a story.

Great and emotional flashback. To survive such an experience will surely make him stronger as a king.

One of the best episodes of Kingdom in my opinion. I thought the first season was pretty average but so far the second season is a massive step up

That was a pretty long flashback but it made me appreciate Zheng more. Always didn't like his attitude of being too "kingly" but now I kinda think he has every right and deserves to be. >_<

damnit the supporting characters in this are always great and get killed off

Although I got a little sad, I could not help but say "But shoot the horses ._." "Use that plank to protect you" "What happened with straw things" "Go to the horses and leave the carriage" "jump into the ravine"

That Ouki death theme rekt me, rest in peace Shika.

Flashback arc as a whole is still weak though, concept was nice but author (or the anime) rushed the execution. Sei grew fond of Shika way too quickly, it was not relatable.. you'd think that with his background he'd be more cautious of Shika but it seemed like she had won his heart since that riverbank night, which is their first actual interaction. Sei's transformation from a deranged kid to his current Sei form is also very unnatural, he basically turned into this wise leader after he snapped out of his delusions almost immediately, like, nani??

Also, if Sei and his mother were really captives of Zhao, instead of leaving them roam free at some village, you'd think they would instead imprison them, but they didn't for some reason.

Damn they died, :'(
