It was recently announced that anime "Kaze Tachinu", which is currently in Japan theaters, was nominated for the Competition Field of the 70th Venice International Film Festival, starting on August 28, 2013. This is Hayao Miyazaki's third work to be chosen; the first one was Howl's Moving Castle (2004), and the second one was Ponyo on a Cliff (2008).

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Nice, although I wish it were someone else getting this attention. Miyazaki has already been lauded by the west enough and doesn't really need the publicity.

Sadly, those of us waiting for subs have to wait 5 months or longer to see this movie. ;__ ;

Here in Italy Miyazaki is very famous. Also the videogame Ni No Kuni produced by Studio Ghibli was popular and had advertisements on television.

I'm wanting to watch it asap, but don't know where. When are the subbed/dubbed versions going to be released?
