I know its a little gay to admit it but, i've caught myself grinning or smiling or have a feeling of light heartedness when something moe pops up in an anime (like Binchou-tan walking). I dunno its like seeing a little puppy or kitten, moe situations for me bring out the same feelings.

Have you ever caught yourself having the same or similar feelings when confronted with a MOE situation (in an anime or anime related)? Or if not, explain why.

Please try to keep posts longer than just a few words to keep this discussion from getting kicked to the SPAM folder :\

Oh and just to make sure if you feel a little indecisive:

Sometimes, a moe overload makes my head tilt back, me drool, and my eyes to roll up and lose focus.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Actually I hate Moe, Hagu for example for Honey and Clover she was nothing but a disgusting Moe blob that ruined the series for me.
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

Showing personal feelings != gay. Come now...

I'd say it's more a case of Hagu failing as a character than Moe failing as a concept :P

Are you using some kind of advanced logic I don't know about? Have you decided to assign new meanings to English words? Are you just intentionally burning a straw man and knowing full well that you're changing the subject and misrepresenting a claim?

Moe is just slang for a fetish or love for characters in video games or anime and manga.

And there is nothing wrong with Moe :P

Depends. Do I smile when I see anything that is supposed to be moe? No, a lot of it is done badly or in a way that I don't care about. Do I smile when I see anything that I find moe? Of course, that's moe by definition.

oh, these little earthquakes

This is pretty much it.

However, I have passed the 'I don't care' stage of 'supposed' moe I didn't care for. I see it everywhere now, and the continuous use of people spamming mooeeee~ over something so cheap has cracked a nerve.

Okay I admit it. I smile when it's too MOE to handle.

But, it depends on the weight.

I don't think I could point something out at Moe even if I tried to be honest with you. I mean, I KNOW what it is, but I don't definite anyones actions by it.

That being said, I do laugh at Ouran when they make fun of the Moe lovers ;)

At first, moe annoyed me, but now I'm used to it. Heck, two of my favorite anime characters are moe girls (Hatsune Miku and San Seto). You can say that moe and I are on equal terms.

It's more of a hit or miss for me, sometimes I find it really cute but other times I just go meh.

I would say something like this is what really gets to me. I'm going to hell, btw.

Technically, the only character in all of anime/manga history that I consider to be 'moe' is Fate Testarossa. Yes, I grin from cheek to cheek whenever I witness her über moe & sex appeal charm. ^__^:

That gif...it hypnotises my every time...

And yeah, I tend to find myself smiling if something I find moe appears.

I smile at a lot of things. Moe is just overly cute, and overly cute is just what it is.

I also frown at the overly dumb, like expressions such as anything negative is 'gay'.
How the fuck old are you?

Gay is a term that denotes only one thing in the modern world, you are homosexual.
Use of the term gay in any other context paints you as a 7 year old.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

I am a girl and for some reason, I really enjoy some of these moe/ harem type animes that are apparently supposed to be for pervy old men. (I don't really buy this argument, I think it's more of a cultural thing.) Anyway I think I like it because I was SO those girls in junior high/ high school, I was cute in an innocent sort of way and very shy, and I would have loved if some dude moved to my city and suddenly took an interest in me and in solving all of my problems. Of course now that I am slightly older and more cynical I would probably be more suspicious of that kind of situation, but I still love watching it play out on-screen.

It depends actually... It all depends on the quality. Some Moe scenes makes me go all 'aww', while others makes me facepalm.

Awwww Rihoko and Masane! Riko was just so randomly cute in that show, I swear I grinned whenever she was on the screen.

It really depends on what cute things we're talking about here. I remember seeing this one show that was so intensely cute I had to pause it and just sit there in wonder. Then I had to go watch something violent, because it was just that cute.

Sure, if I find it moe then moe it is. Shows these days are just trying too hard, though. Making something specifically for such a purpose just negates the reason for it to exist in the first place.

I don't pay much attention to it. Maybe I'd aww at a chibi bishounen every once in a while but that's about it.

Anti-moe zealots sucked ass. They usually GAR fanboys and fujioshi fangirls.

As a moe fanboy myself, I want to ask any GAR fanboys and fujioshi fangirls "do all muscle-bound guys and topless handsome young men with smooth chest makes you smile?"

I'm 24 but I already have hairy chest, hairy legs, hairy arms and beard. Girls love fujioshi because they are nothing like real men. Same as with me to moe girls because they look nothing like real women.

I only like it when older characters try it. The rest is just "meh", unless if the moe sequence is well animated. Then I'd be smiling for completely different reasons...

As long as it isn't overdone and they're trying to shove down something that's meant to be moe, then hell yes I do. Always! I smile so big and will even squeal if it's something I find super duper amazingly moe!
