The upcoming issue of Shounen Magazine will announce a third TV anime season of "Hajime no Ippo" to air this fall, according to ANN. The 34th issue of the magazine will hit the streets on July 24th.
The "Hajime no Ippo" manga started serialization in 1989 and 103 volumes have been published so far. Volume 104 will be released on August 16th. The two previous anime seasons broadcast in 2000 and 2009, along with an additional OVA and TV special in 2003.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?
I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?
I wonder how long people would put up with this.
As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
Wait... Fighting Spirit's coming back?
I've seen some of the show (via Toonami Aftermath) and it was okay from what I've seen. Glad to see that they'll be more of it.
(There was a "new Challenger" series in 2009?! ... okay, so it did had a comeback in recent TV programming.)
Finally! I've been waiting for this. Hopefully they will do a season longer than 26 episodes this time. And they need to include the skipped arc about Genji. It was emotional for me and I really liked it.
Going off the poster, it looks like the Sawamura, David Eagle, and Aoki fights are all going to be in this season - and they'll definitely need to show the Shimabukuro fight too after the ending of New Challenger. This means that the new season will probably cover around 150 chapters of manga material, there's also the Nekota and Kamogawa backstory to animate as well.
Oh Joy! This is great... Yeah they really make us HnI fans wait a long freaking time between seasons. But it's totally worth it. There's just so much more material to cover, and this anime makes money so I was definitely expecting this to happen some day.
eliminator said: Those who read manga. How many episodes could the 3rd season have? And is there room for more seasons? Appreciate all replies.
They have more than enough material to animate at least two series of around 50 or more episodes each if they really tried to, and it looks like they're going to be making a decent amount of episodes if the promotional poster is anything to go off.
I have the best God Damn timing ever!
I just finally finished catching up with the anime last Saturday. And then I finally caught up with the manga just last Tuesday. I did NOT expect another season any time soon, and never cared much for the series- but after marathoning the manga, I couldn't get enough! I tried looking for a series that's similar to no avail. This is just EPIC news. Hopefully it'll turn out good. Can't wait :D
But it kinda sucks that I'm have to wait so long. I don't really watch shows weekly, so ima have to wait till it's completed. Anyone know how many episodes it'll have?
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?
Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...
