Been awhile since my last update so it's better if I avoid posting a huge ass list of records I listened to while I wasn't posting here... anyhow let me just talk about one album...

Tell Me About the Long Dark Path Home

Now this is a Midwest Emo/Post-Rock/Math Rock album that was released in 2005 and is the only studio album by The Newfound Interest in Connecticut, they hail from Toronto and tbh seeing a band like this hail from somewhere I'm quite familiar with surprises me but nevertheless intrigued me much more... well what did I get?

4.5/5

This album is fantastic and is the perfect example of how a Emo record mixed with Post-Rock (+ Math) should sound like, just the fact that it perfectly embodies the cold melancholic emotion that is felt throughout the songs through its atmosphere is something that I truly appreciate, and the fact that brass instruments are heard time from time throughout this album adds to the emotion that is felt on this album. My fave song on the record is And It Sings For Itself, it is pretty much what I just praised this album for, the melancholic riffs and emotional vocals of Matt King truly impacted me. This was a wonderful listen, anyhow I'll be sure to come here to update so I don't have to list a TON of albums.

4th or so time listening to it in full.
great-more upbeat kind of shoegaze with beautifully textured guitars and some other-wordly drumming, some of the moments in the album almost completely reinvent the genre and innovate it into something beyond your typical shoegaze.
some songs lapse in quality, but it doesn't detract from the whole listening experience.
twisterella, cool your boots, time of her time, mouse trap are all great stuff.

Oh maybe, maybe it's the clothes we wear
The tasteless bracelets and the dye in our hair
Or maybe, maybe it's our nowhere towns or our nothing places
But we're trash, you and me
We're the litter on the breeze
We're the lovers on the streets
Just trash, me and you
It's in everything we do
It's in everything we do
