| I remember reading an aritcle about this in a magazine a couple months back, too bad I lost it cause it offered great insight into this situation. But we brazilians are kinda between a rock and a hard place: if the World Cup turns out to be a failure, our pride and economy will go down the drain, and if turns out alright, the fucking corrupt politicians will likely take a large share of the income for themselves and spend the rest of the money on absolutely nothing, all while letting the newly-built and expensive stadiums rot and become useless to us, just like what happened in the Pan-American Olympics (is this how you spell it?) in 2007. |
