And with that, all volumes of SnK are above 1 million.
Strong.

Didn't expect Shokugeki no Souma to sell that high. Guess Japan likes it huh.
Nisekoi also did well. Can't wait for the anime.

With the buzz that the last volume of OreImo brought, it's no surprise it's selling this strong. Some people are probably still mad at that ending huh :P

Mahouka managing to outsell AW. Both will probably get more next week when it sells for a longer time but I doubt AW will pass it. This needs an anime badly but it'll take a skilled team to do it. People probably will not like Tatsuya though. I'll just chuckle silently at their reactions I guess...

Lastly, NT7 just barely hanging on there. NT8 now! I want to know more about Misaki.

I believe the details for the top selling manga and LN series for the first half of 2013 per volume and series are already out. Shouldn't that be reported as news here on MAL? Just saying...

*6, *33,796 *33,796 High Kyuu!! Shousetsuban!! Vol.1
*7, *30,505 *30,505 Nisekoi Urabara Vol.1
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I think the previous volume as about 80k after the same number of days? And 180k after 25 days. This one should crush that.

It's been hanging at #4 for books on Amazon for a while. It will probably add a significant amount for this week at that rank, on top of the 3 days of sales counted here.

Available much earlier, thanks a lot!!!

10 volumes over 1 million Oricon sales for SnK, no surprise but still wow.

Koyomimonogatari still selling is a good thing.

Still a tail for Yahari/Oregaru volume 1. Surprised the other volumes aren't there however. I guess not everyone buys 7 volumes at once.

It's been barely scraping into the rankings every week, so for one of the others to rank they would basically have to sell more than vol 1 is. Plus the LE of vol 7 is still on sale.

Current rankings on Amazon:
vol 1 - 161
vol 2 - 198
vol 3 - 277
vol 4 - 208
vol 5 - 220
vol 6 - 274
vol 7 LE - 288
vol 7 RE - 254

Obviously that is just a single snapshot and from one site, but it should give a vague idea of how the other volumes are doing.

Incidentally, in its first 3 days, Aku no Hana vol 7 sold 19k copies. It had only sold 40k after 10 days.
In its first 3 days, Aku no Hana vol 8 has sold 44k copies.

Even if the anime itself is a disaster, it's at least brought attention, which has led to an increase in manga readership.

Good to see Accel World is doing fine as usual. Rettousei needs an anime adaptation. Sunrise might have nominated themselves since they advertised heavily for Rettousei LN in Accel World anime lol.

Aku no Hana seems to get a boost from the anime. I'm glad to see Claymore selling well. Any doubters of the latest Claymore chapters can rest assured.

Snk is going strong, but of course One Piece is still king :D

Don't forget both Rettousei and Accel World are published by Dengeki Bunko. I would rather guess that it is the publisher which decides what to put in an anime for product placement instead of the studio.

I'm a little scared as to how they want to show Tatsuya's thoughts and all the explanatory information in an Anime because they're the most important right after Tatsuya and Miyuki scenes. ^^ I hope they don't rush it like many other LN 4 volumes in 12episodes...

Strong start for OP #70 (no surprise there) while #69 is nearing the three million mark. I'm also so happy to see Shokugeki no Souma doing so well. I've started reading the manga only recently and I practically devoured it.
Meanwhile the titans dance their way to the top.

Concerning the LN department, I'm glad AW #14 sold rather well. Perhaps we might expect even better sales next week (overall, that is).

Also Magi might reach the 500,000 mark after all. <3

the anime most probably will be a complete fail. this novel consist of too many Monologues.
i remember they also skip monologues in SAO anime. if they do the same with mahouka, then we'd have no clue what happen in the story and left in confusion.

as much as i want this anime, but i also don't want to see this anime fail and people say bad things about this series.

Hadn't thought about that. I am enjoying Yahari more but haven't read it yet, just ordered the novels. While I have the RDG novels and find that the anime is missing too much of it. Interesting...

Think Yahari will be 13 episodes however.

For the more recent manga in Shounen Jump, it is practically a race between Souma and Ansatsu on which one gets anime adaptation first ;-)

I've seen series like worst and crows consistently make the top japanese sales lists, but nobody outside of Japan seems to know it even exists.

A few do. Like me :P
Crows is really good. I read it when there was around 80 chaps out and put it on hold. Now I'm waiting until it ends.

What's sad is that months before I read Crows, I read Worst. I stopped reading for whatever reason and later started reading Crows without realizing they were connected. Then I was like... this all sounds familiar! :O And yea... connected the dots. :P
It's a good series, I just gots to be in the right mood to read it. I also want to read the other sequel... :D

If you like those, try Rookies. It has the same style and is also really great. I wish more of these types of mangas got translated. :(

Shingeki may have been on fire, but I guess not even it can overtake the King, huh? Well, who am I kidding, One Piece is never gonna be overtaken.

I'm also so happy to see Shokugeki no Souma doing so well. I've started reading the manga only recently and I practically devoured it.
For the more recent manga in Shounen Jump, it is practically a race between Souma and Ansatsu on which one gets anime adaptation first ;-)

Shokugeki is more likely to get one earlier. As an ecchi, it stands a chance above Ansatsu for the first spot. I'm thinking maybe an year, an year and half in to it's serialisation will be enough material for a one cour season. Ansatsu could also do similar, though studios might wanna milk it a bit more by waiting a bit longer since it sells so much more than Shokugeki.

I am not blaming the free translators. I wish they would release these things properly outside of Japan so people could read it and the translators could get paid...
