Because Shouko is so fucking dying this season and you will not convince me otherwise. Too many deathflags.

Which exactly? Fucking latest spoiler marginalize her relations with Haruto, she won't die. Definitely not this season. I don't need to convince you, just laugh at you.

>Shoko = Euphy. Hare
Fucking stupid, none of them were main girl, nor childhood frieds.
>Aina = Nina
WTF, just wearing glasses makes you lesbo tablefucker? Aina is Shirley/Hare of VVV, but for Kyuma.

Shouko/Euphemia/Cagalli
Innocent leader, motivator, sacrificial lamb role.

Nina/Aina/Meyrin
Weak, feminine, frail character that unwittingly kickstarts something huge.

Comparing Cagalli and Shouko...................dude did you even watch Gundam Seed? Please don't insult Cagalli anymore.

This is one of the few times where I can't tell if Sunrise is taking this seriously or not. It seems like a somewhat interesting plot with some interesting elements...but it's so riddled with previous Sunrise cliches that I can't tell if they are self-aware of it or not.

For the most part I don't think Sunrise is taking this show seriously. It's just WAY too silly and entertainingly stupid. If you can appreciate the weirdness and you have a strange sense of humor, this show is great. If not, the show is terrible.

Personally, I'm loving every bit of it. Who cares if this stuff doesn't make sense? The writers certainly don't seem to care. XD

Seriously, guys. It's like asking if Sengoku Basara is self aware. Since the part, when Haruto become internet star, after fighting with badass Mecha (also milion friend request on facebook) , it was clear that the show is going to be maximum grotesque, and it's Great actually.

The only thing in common they have is that they both are mary sue, but Shouko is NOWHERE near the level of mary sueness Lacus reigned at.

It's not a parody in my opinion. But it does seem intentional. It seems to poke fun at itself and the genre. But I still wouldn't go as far as to call it a parody.

Whether it is a "trainwreck" or not is debatable. But seeing how the show is neither funny nor compelling serves as proof that it is not very good.

A lot of debate on whether it's a parody or not but how much comedy does this show actually have? It doesn't even have a comedy tag and I'm wondering whether to watch this or not.

The first half of this show (which is what I've watched of it so far) is borderline genius in its approach. It's anime that pretends to be serious while winking at its audience the whole time that's its nothing more than one giant, funny mess. Aside from a few genuine moments, as a whole it is so utterly ridiculous and over-the-top more than most shows I've ever seen. I mean really, vampires and mecha and students ruling countries and negotiating with foreign powers combined with a guy who can somehow tell the future and who knows what else. It is so off the rails that its kind of an art.

The tip-off that this is mostly a big joke comes in the first episode, when the the students are discussing eggs and bacon, and the protagonist says, "The HAM is key."

Clever. Very clever.
