I don't know or care much about Kanye West, but in fairness, this probably is closer to the true image of Christ than what you'd see on a stained glass window.

I don't dislike Skrillex (although his older stuff is way better). Either way, I'm sure Kanye can make it work for exactly the reason you stated, haha.

An anime website probably isn't the best place for a hip-hop thread, yet alone Kanye.

Still hyped though, MAL is just full of plebs.

Kanyeezy gets way too many haters with no taste who can't even explain why they don't like him beyond "he's a dick." I usually dislike araby, but he's one of the only ones in this thread who I don't want to punch.

And why the fuck y'all on about wu tang? Man, fuck wu tang,. They had some of the greatest hip hop albums ever, but it ain't their time anymore. There's a certain point every artists career where there is simply no chance they will produce anything truly noteworthy ever again. Wu tang hit that point like a decade ago.

thankyou

Now, let's see.
I love Kanye's music. It's the best bar none, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Black skin head and especially New Slaves. Now.. I understand hip hop and particularly rap artists aren't most people cup of tea but seriously, you sometimes have to give it to Kanye for his quality in music most of the times, if not all. (I say most for the benifit of those who would want to say not all the time).

All that said, I AM READY.
(still don't like it's name being Yeezus but.. that's Kanye being Kanye and I love it)
You're all idiots, but I'm no different.

I thought there was going to be no actual album art? It doesn't look bad, but I have no idea what it is.

idgaf tho. I can't wait for his new album. I've loved his music for years. And the "New Slaves" and "Black Skinhead" performance on SNL was a little dramatic - but it was still done well. But it kind of reminded me of Lupe Fiasco's "Japanese Cartoon" stuff.

Kayne is a complete hack who has no musical abilities that garner the attention he gets. The only reason he's so hyped up is because Pitchfork never shuts up about how glorious they think he is.

^ But how could you say that he has no musical talent whatsoever? You're free to your own opinion, of course. Anyway, how much of Kanye's music have you even listened to? This guy has been working hard for years to deliver music to his fans. Just because you don't like his personality or music or whatever, don't go shooting down his skill.

I said, "...has no musical abilities that garner the attention he gets." I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, I'm simply stating that his abilities do not deserve the massive amount of praise he gets. I've heard many records from this decade that are better produced, better executed, and downright more enjoyable than MBDTF. I really liked it when it came out, but I might have been overwhelmed with the hype as I was more impressionable back then. Listening to it now, it's better than a lot of hip-hop records being released today (especially ones as mainstream as Kanye's), but it's easy to point out the flaws.

3nvy said:

Pitchfork called him a leech in their recap of 2012. They didn't give 808s and heartbreak a BNM rating although they hand that shit out like candy. They aren't on his dick all that bad. They gave MBDTF a "10" because it was a "10." That simple.

You wouldn't say the same thing if they gave it a 6.0. Simply put; it does not deserve a 10 from anyone, especially not an over-glorified, ill-talented 'hype machine' like Pitchfork. I can show you 20 records from this decade that deserve more credit than MBDTF gets because, simply put, they're better records.

That's enough. I could list albums released this decade that were on par with MBDTF, but my list would be very different. I've heard plenty of those albums and they weren't all that great. You don't like hip hop at all, huh? Whatever.

I like hip-hop just fine, but I like quality in my hip-hop, not this hipster-praised bastardization of it. It's my fault for having standards, I guess.

your opinions aren't credible because all you are doing is saying "he is not as good as everyone says. i think there is music better than his. this is what i think and you are all wrong". i don't know what you hoped to achieve in this thread, but if it was to make kanye fans think again, it's not working.

List some better hip hop music that's come out then. I agree that MBDTF is definitely overhyped and not as good as most people make it out to be (though it was still pretty good), but if you're gonna argue that he's not good, explain why. I like Kanye, think he's a talented rapper, and has good music even recently. I think there's been better music that's come out lately though, like Lupe's latest album for example.

Gonna check Yeezus out in a bit. Hope it lives up to the hype. I expect big things from Kanye.
