I would definitely watch something like a hollywood live action version of it.
But it really has to be hollywood...I really like asian cinema, but they just couldn't pull something like this off.
Just give James Cameron 300-400 Million Dollars and he will turn this into a 3 Hour 3D Spectacle that will put Avatar to shame.

speaking of live action hollywood adaptations.
what id give for a good, 100% faithful adaptation of TTGL with an avatar level budget, all no name/upcoming actors. 100% true to the anime, no alterations done whatsoever.

split into 3 movies

movie 1 covers eps 1-kaminas death
movie 2 covers kaminas death to the battle for teppelin.
movie 3 starts with timeskip and ends at the end (they can keep the lagann hen ending in though, but keep the deaths of team dai gurren from the series in)

soundtrack stays untouched.

done well with a massive budget and huge amounts of advertising, this would be absofuckinglutely amazing.

too bad theres no chance in hell that will ever happen. atleast we get pacific rim.

OT. dunno if this is fake but i dont know if this would work too well.

Dude don't just throw other anime spoilers like that! Not everyone has seen the same things you've seen.
Btw TTGL can't be made as a movie and be good no matter how you love it. It's full of crazy shit that when put into a live action will look too stupid.

She's be too strong for those titans... well, other than the 60 meter one. She fought giant monsters, but never seen her square off with something that big.

Pretty sure she'll still win though, her Railgun is OP.

The funny thing is a TV magazine indeed mixed up the names and used Mikasa in the synopsis for the next episode of Railgun !!! ROFL ROFL ROFL
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Do they just write the names in Hiragana/Katakana in like a TV guide even if they have a Kanji writing? Because I see on MAL that Misaka's name is written 御坂 as opposed to say ミサカ, which would be easy to confuse with the way Mikasa's name is spelled (ミカサ) but if they used the Kanji writing you wouldn't get that mix up...

Hollywood adaptation of Attack On Titan would be a disaster...I bet they will change the story... so no blood, drama etc, because no one will invest in it.
Japan can do a proper adaptation in CGI movie, like upcoming Captain Harlock...

Well, instead of ミサカ, ミカサ was printed in the synopsis of the next episode of Railgun S. Actually for the character Misaka, it is common to write her name in katakana. Interesting, isn't it?

Well of course, when it comes to hardcore action hollywood movies, it's all about the CG and the explosions these days.

Very interesting (not being sarcastic). Along with learning the language I'm also interested in how it is commonly used.

The language. Meaning that simply knowing vocabulary and grammar isn't enough. I'm interested in common usage, slang, and other things of that nature. I'm still a real novice, but my curiosity about Japanese extends to stuff like that (like how names of characters are spelled in a TV guide, for example. Sounds very minor but stuff like that adds up to a better understanding. At least for me).

I see. For how a name is written, I do not really see a pattern, except that for a given name there are cases when it is always written in hiragana (because the parents picked a hiragana given name with no kanji), and for some given names like Rei and Asuka, it can often be written in katakana. However, the case for Railgun is a bit different, because Misaka is the family name. Family name does not usually get written in katakana or hiragana. So I don't really know why for this character it is sometimes written in katakana. One thing though: when the full name is spelled out, it is always written in kanji.

I disagree, they are the only ones with the money to make such a movie work and give you amazing scenes with the Titans causing chaos ans slaughter.
Whether they will end up changing everything and ruining it mostly depends on who the producers and director end up being.

If this were real there would probably be a lot of censorship, I don't think the characters would be given enough time to develop. Back stories would probably change. When things go to Hollywood a lot changes.

I hate live adaptations of animes in general.
They tend to suck.

Ill-fitting actors.
Special effects are a major wtf. I just genrally don't like them.
In hentai, you can see anything... chicks with d*cks, angels, demons, snake girls, unfaithful wives, pregnancies and even crossdressers... the list goes on, pal. You name it.
Why you would want to see a heartwarming romance in your porn is beyond me.

It is known that when Hollywood spends hundreds of millions in filmmaking their goal is to have the film rated from the lowest to PG13, no rated R. I can't imagine Hollywood doing a live adaptation of naked giants running around and eating humans. It's just too gory and bloody for them. They probably think that the film will not be profitable and they will gain little from it, and I think it's true. This is the era where you don't see big budget films been rated R or been bloody like the ones in the old days, instead you get films like Iron Man 3 which is for kids.

Anime is the best form of media for this manga.
Movie will cut out all the good parts.
A TV drama will be too expensive.

Personally feel like people are hyping too much. Sure, the anime is splendid, but there's no guarantee the movie will be. Can the live action surpass and/or measure up to the anime? Hardly doubt it.

The best chance for us to see a live action Hollywood adaptation of Shingeki is by sending it to a major studio. Internet made the world smaller -- this would not be impossible. There would be changes of course, but I still believe that there are film outfits out there that can do it justice. Just don't give it to Michael Bay for instance because we all know that he butchered Transformers into crap. Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan and James Cameron are the best options.

it would be like a mix between spiderman and pacific rim, with elements of horror. i dont see why it wouldnt get the same success. (maybe not fit for all audiences) i like the casting so far :P this would make a really great movie if they can identify key scenes from the anime.

I don't think Japan live-action skills can make judge to Attack On Titan. Let's face it, if it was Hollywood doing it, it would probably look fenomenal but Japan is not that skilled when it comes to movies. That's my opinion.
There's no such thing as a painless lesson.
They just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary.
You can't gain anything without losing something first.
Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it,
you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle.
Yeah, a heart made fullmetal.

No offense, mate, but have you ever seen a movie with Kristen Stewart???? She has no range save for the number of times she looks concerned by tucking her hair behind her ear. If anything, Jewel Staite would be a good Sasha, but hey, I'm no casting director.

I do like your choice for Jean (Dane DeHaan), although I think Logan Lerman is better suited for Armin, given his cutesy face and limited abilities; not sure he could channel the energy needed to be Eren.
