A very well done episode. It put in a lot of time to get us to know and like this sister character. A lot of funny and oddly relaxing moments. And then suddenly the whole thing shifts to the "experiment" and the whole sadistic cruelty comes fully upon the character (and us). Pacing and directing is handled very well, including the use of BGM, scene cuts and the handling of its conclusion. Can't wait for next week's episode. AnimageNeby said: It is not a remake. So the Sisters Arc is already covered in Index season 1 but now it is done from the viewpoint of Railgun. And yes, the power of Accelerator has to do with vectors.Just a quick question. I'm not really following all the railgun series that are out there, but I noted the new one and started watching. And...is this a remake? Because I sure remember another one very much similar to this one. If I remember correctly, the guy has some vector power that turns the direction of other forces, I believe? So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

RIP misaka 9982....damm, such a perfect episode, it's llike knowing the end of a movie, and because of that , the funny moments have such a sad feeling to them, damm godd job J.C. never in my life had i watched such an awesome episode in the to aru series, for a second there i was afraid of accel, and hoping touma or misaka would appear....but misaka was too late, hell i'm even amazed that she could survive so long after this by facing accel, such a real monster, really, accel in his golden days is probably the most OP character ever, actually he is invincible, no doubt, not even the big stars of shonen jump oculd even touch him also...9982...the misaka that gets saved is 10032,..so biri biri must suffer another 49 deaths? damm that's sad, i almost cried the moment i heard that number, if it's one a dayits almost 2 months...so, in this point of time, touma still has his memories rigth? when i first read this was a sisters arc i wasnt that happy, hopping for more badass shit, well, i'm sorry, and i'm gratefull for this awesome seies, just this episode(and the next one) are way better than the whole railgun series |

Episode explained how Misaka found out about the project and seems she is heading for a fight with Accelerator now which doesn't seems like a very good thing. Wonder how it will turn out tho that fight personally not to found of Accelerators character he is arrogant and just a cold blooded killer here found it more funny watching him be annoyed in the last season of Index. Seeing as that plays in the future seen from this i wont say to much about it. That sister had a surprising personality tho it seemed to be different from the other sisters i could be wrong about this tho. |

Given the adaptation so far, pacing, as well as hints placed into the series, there will be very little slice of life stuff for a while since we are getting into the murky depths of the Sisters Arc story. We still have another full volume of chapters to be adapted before Touma even makes his entrance into the Sisters Arc and even then, that corresponds with episode 10 of Index Season 1. After that, there is still another half volume of material left before Touma gets involved in the Sisters Arc. At the same time, JC Staff will be adapting the Liberal Arts City SS, which takes place from September 3 to 10, simultaneously with the Orsola Aquinas Rescue Arc. |

Misaka clone was so amusing that it was really sad see her die like that. She made the first half more enjoyable that the fight with her crazy antics. For some reason, unlike others i find Accelerator not very cool actually. That big head and small body he has is kind of ridiculous and it always seems like they are trying too hard to give him a crazy psycho attidute. |

Epic episode!!! Misaka clone made this episode. From her hilarious expressions and interaction with original Misaka. It was so sad when Accel completely killed her. So this is the first time Misaka fights Accelerator. Isn't this the same place Touma fights Accelerator? |

The calm/funny/cosy parts were there in contrast to the inhuman treatment afterwards, as you said. Very well done. Thus, the impact of the atrocity was made much bigger. I see. So not a remake, but rather the same story from a different perspective, thus? I knew I had seen it before, somewhere. ;-) Could be an interesting take on things. I remember, indeed, watching Index for a while, a long time ago - but I lost interest in it when it became a bit too fanciful and slice-of-life shoujo talking stuff. (Contrary to you, I'm not much of a fan of that genre). But the railgun-series seems better and more 'serious' in that matter, so maybe I'll add this to my list of 'keep-an-eye-on' anime. |

@ people who are wondering about the differences between the adaptations and the sources Basically what happened is there are five adaptations: Index novel Index manga Index anime Railgun manga Railgun anime The Sisters' project has the most in depth development in the Railgun manga, which is set after the anime. So Railgun S Sisters' Arc would be really close to the Railgun Sisters' Arc. Remember to refer to http://toarumajutsunoindex.wikia.com/wiki/Story_Timeline to ease your confusion. Wow after all that slice-of-life style I didn't expect Railgun to turn more serious than Index.. Kept me at the edge of my seat at the end there. |

Accelerator: "People have done this much to you. Sorry for taking so long...to save you". "You’re really pitiful. Listen, I’ll tell you one thing. That day, my brain was damaged alright. Looking at me now, you should know, right? ...But then again, just because I’ve gotten weaker, it doesn’t mean that you got stronger, RIGHT?" “A Villain that’s no better than a piece of shit.” "This is not a negotiation, a suggestion, a deal, an entreaty, an agreement, a compromise, or a capitulation. It’s my triumphant return, you fuckers." |

yeokso said: saxophone15 said: Is it just me, or does this site have a fair amount of gore lovers? I'm not particularly bothered by the censoring as I'm not itching to see some gore. (sorry, couldn't help but share my observations) For me personally, its not so much "I want more gore" but more of "Please be faithful to the original source down to the last scene" (I can become picky). Having read the manga, the fight between Accelerator and #9982 was one of my most anticipated moments in the story because I was nervous how JC Staff will handle it. With regards to this episode, the censorship was fine on one end then bad on the other. When Accelerator went crazy and torn #9982's leg off. That scene alone was enough for me to say "Yep, good enough for me". Having said that, I still would have appreciated if JC Staff just went all out and showed the scene as intended. As gruesome and sadistic as I sound right now, it is an immersion breaker. You're fully immersed into the episode wishing the clone doesn't die (or something of that sort) then suddenly black bar. At least try to make it less obvious or not include the scene at all. Then again, just because I'm not bothered by it doesn't mean other people aren't so maybe that explains why. If you've watched Index I & II before, you'll know he is just that 'bloodlusted'. We not talking about Touma here suddenly going crazy, it makes sense for Accelerator to do that. If you aren't familiar with Index then I hope you are well informed and formally introduced to the strongest esper in Academy City - Accelerator. Enjoy. It gets evem better from here on now. A rather long post but I like talking about Index/Railgun. The universe is just so interesting and amazing. I understand wanting it to be faithful to the original source....but we have to remember that this is being shown on TV and they can't just show anything (some shows push the boundaries though). Assuming the censorship is removed for the bluray/dvd...I don't see it as much of a problem. |

Fucks sake. Yeah, had the same thought. I knew she was going to die, but JC's perfect execution still blew me out of the chair :o I thought that they might not include the leg, but after seeing last episode's special scene after the ending, I had hope lolz. Also, I guess the leg is kind of important for next episode too. Oh yeah, I've watched the episode's ending like 30 times by now actually lol. That yell, is just so amazing. I really am going to love this season. I just can't wait for what is coming. The darkness is just beginning. This really is deep and I really appreciate this. Until later seasons of Index come out, this definitely blows anything else in Toaru franchise out of the water, including season 1 of railgun. The difference between that and this is the following: Then, the enemy was a random scientist. Now the enemy is a bunch of scientists, Accelerator, and Academy city itself :) minus Touma (he's the only useful person anyway) Knowing that, this is much deeper and emotionally haunting and satisfying when it is wrapped up. I do find this surprising though because Index seasons 1,2 and Railgun season 1 really toned down the darkness in Kamachi's writing and this is actually representing it pretty faithfully. One other thing: for those people who are angry about the treatment of clones. Don't fret too much: the whole point of this season is people slowly realizing that clones are important life-forms as well and should be treated humanely. In fact, it is this idea that acts as a catharsis for this season later on. Please try to understand this. Also, on the T.V. version, they actually used a black box to cover up the leg (from what I heard). So they will probably have it both ways. There was censoring on the T.V. So it probably wasn't as much of an issue for Japanese viewers even if it was surprising as well. The online versions that are subbed without the censoring are mainly for the manga viewers who are expecting exactly that (a faithful adaptation). Remember that it is the gore which makes it psychologically haunting. I still haven't actually been able to watch the scene where he took her leg off, even though I've seen that part about 30 times lolz. |

Such a contrast between the first and second half of the episode. The whole first encounter with her clone was really funny. I love how they actually gave them lively eyes and more personality this time around. The faces and wise-crack comments MISAKA-clone makes are hilarious. xD And then there's the second half where we we've seen the experiment for the first time in Railgun S, and Accelerator as well for that matter. I thought those fights were insanity at first; just doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. But now that I actually heard the explanation about using different locations, weapons and tactics every time, I understand. Misaka's reactions to reading about it was pretty sad. 20,000 of her. It's just cruel. As already stated in Index I: It's no fight, it's a one way slaughter. That dismemberment, man. :( Looking forward to Mikoto and Accelerator's first fight though. Not that she'll win. |

God, this episode was glorious and hilarious as well prior to when Accelerator entered the scene. The ice cream scene was sweet, and to think a random Samaritan ice cream seller would give the free to stop the argument was just kind, and a bit sad as well. The part where he rips 9982's leg off was brutal as hell, and the infamous Black line censor had to be induced. Well, it was brutal after all... Looking forward to more Accelerator in the coming episodes, and also Touma. |

But damn it my heart just dropped when MISAKA went "farewell" to Mikoto and when she picked up that badge just before the train carriage hit her. That was a depressing episode. I imagine the conversations went something like... *completion of project plan report* "So, using this method, we can create the first Level 6." *hand raised* "Um, but won't killing 20,000 clones likely turn the subject into a homicidal sociopath?" "I said, WE CAN CREATE THE FIRST LEVEL 6." You do not know how crazy Academy City scientists can get...until you meet the Kiharas. Such as Kihara Amata, the scientist in charge of developing Accelerator's power. These are the guys who don't give a damn about human life and will do anything necessary for science (killing included) and are the type who would misuse good for evil purposes (see Kihara Enshuu in NT Volume 4 Period.21). That was a good attempt. But not quite. Updated version: I imagine the conversations went something like... Part 1: *completion of project plan report* "So, using this method, we can create the first Level 6." *hand raised* "Um, but won't killing 20,000 clones likely turn the subject into a homicidal sociopath?" *other hand raised* *And if Misaka Mikoto found out... wouldn't we be toast?" "I said, WE CAN CREATE THE FIRST LEVEL 6." Part 2: Aleister Crowley in secret room, listening via underline: *hmm... making him a sociopath would be good for my plans... it might bring out his powers* Reading Thoth 78 responds: *or... he could become a loose-cannon and wipe out the entire city and world with plasma and turn on you...* Aleister Crowley says: *Hm... well then, I'll just make the project fail half-way through somehow so that my plans come to fruition, and I can get all of the money from the scientists who have to pay back huge debts Mwah, ha, ha, ha, ha (gets kicked in the face later for this).* Reading Thoth 78: *You don't say... Hopefully this goes better than the first/second time you tried to talk to Aiwass.* Aleister Crowley: *Oh, just shut up.* That's probably what actually happened. Also, we've already seen Terestina from the first season: she is a Kihara, so we know how they are. I mean she was a nice one in comparison... but we still have an idea of how they are. |

Accelerator was already a homicidal sociopath(or at least bat shit crazy)after having his powers developed by Kiiiiihaaaaaaraaaa-kun. Being raised/having a Kihara mess with you does that. See the two known survivors of Dark May Project(is it a coincidence that their powers are based on him?) .I am sure a Kihara was behind that.A Kihara is always behind one evil experiment that isnt planned to fail. @people new to Academy City's dark side... If we exclude the Child Errors from season 1,this barely scratches the city's darkness. |
