Yay more Chunnibyou! C:

Can't wait to see more Rikka and Yuuta!

My only concern is, what is the plot going to be this time around? I mean they already resolved the issue of Rikka being a chuunibyou and all.... however, I'm still excited at this information ;D

Seems like there will be more plot in the second season if I can trust peoples reading the novel so...

It's a good thing. I'm ready.

First season pretty much fucked up with the shitty drama, loved the comedy and the characters, will watch hoping that it'll be better than the first.

I loved the first season so I'm really looking forward to this. Now maybe the KyoAni otaku will shut up about Free! and fanboy over Chuu- 2 getting another season.

KyoAni is my second favorite studio only thing I hated that came from them was Lucky Shit and the second season of Haruhi with that Endless Eight bullshit. I haven't seen K-On! or Nichijou to comment on those yet.

I can guarantee you this next season is going to have some really forced drama thats not impactful and in much less quantity, not that much character depth, and a higher reliance on comedy and moe situations. The worst but likley outcome is they may horseshoe in a love triangle somehow since the romance like the rest of the show was already done, if that happens you can expect 100% of the drama will go to that and love triangle drama is some of the worst out there
Damn, you've seen it already? Or are you a psychic?

Can I have lotto #'s? Thanks!

No he's probably read the second novel. IMHO it does NOT introduce a love triangle, instead it's an unrequited love. There is a big difference.

I read a few passages from the LN a while back when it was still airing, I think it's safe to say that the anime didn't exactly follow the LN and sort of went on its on own route.

I'm still not sure why people think what was in the novels is relevant. There's no reason right now to believe the anime will follow the novels any more than season one did (which was barely at all).

Assuming anything about the direction or plot of the second season at the moment is much too hasty.

I'd agree 100% about that. Because of the way they adapted the first season they could do absolutely anything in the second. They may introduce the new character or they may not. I suppose my one concern is that thematically the first season tied up nicely. Still I'd love to see more Rika and Yuuta. They made such a cute couple.

Aw. The anime ended well enough. There's really no need for a sequel. But, I'll watch it anyway cause Dark Flame Master is just that powerful.

YAY!!

I'm looking for more comedy rather than drama this time. And like everyone else has said, I don't know how they'll make a second season since the ending was perfect. I hope KyoAni isn't producing this just because of the first season's popularity. This season might turn out to be unnecessary story-wise.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited for this! :D

YEAH!

This came in totally unexpected, and I found probably the best news as of late.

People said pretty much everything... I hope they don't screw what is perfect already (yuuta x rikka) with any stupid triangles of something of the sort.
Other than that, there's plenty Nibutani, Dekomori, Kumin and Touka still to explore (plus new characters, if any), so I think we're safe.

As for people complaining about the 2nd half (or drama part) of first season: I found it pretty good actually, and if there wasn't some the story would be just too superficial and forgettable, like most comedies-only are.

What? Why? The first season was perfect and it ended. The characters story was told and finished. God I hope they don't screw with the first season. I mean, its in my top 5. I'm worried more than I'm excited...

Judging Yuuta's character, he will most likely tease Rika a lot during their lovey dovey moment. :3

Please don't disappoint me KyoAni.

There's definitely not enough anime where the main couple is already together.

like a lot of ppl said already, the ending was wrapped up very nicely, don't see a reason for them to do this. but hey, i get to see the DARKU FLAMU MASTAH and co. again. this time he should go up against the rest of the cast, lol

To everyone saying this or similar, I'd say:
1. If you enjoyed the first season that much, have some faith in the creative team to deliver a good product again until proven otherwise.

2. Personally, one flaw I find with romance in anime is that it often ends shortly after the relationship starts. I'm pretty excited to see what comes after they've gotten together, because all too often we don't. A tale of being in love can be very different from a tale of falling in love.

3. There are other characters they can explore, both returning from season one and newly introduced in season two. The other characters from season one (while for the most part handled quite well!) mostly played parts in and around around the core Rikka/Yuuta romance, rather than had their own personal stories told in detail. There is always an opportunity to expand a world. (I'm not joking when I say I think Dekomori as protagonist would be amazing. We've only scratched the surface of what that girl can provide storywise.)

Sure, I'll also be disappointed if season two focuses exclusively on taking a step backwards in Rikka and Yuuta's relationship and treads water until returning us where the first season left off. But that's hardly the only narrative option available.

So if you liked Chuu2Koi, don't worry so much. We don't yet know what 2Chuu2Koi will bring us but I personally have a lot of reasons to feel optimistic.

I mean, I hear ya. If its done well, it'll be fantastic. I loved the first season as you can see from my favorites. I'm just worried about it. An anime that I loved THAT much and it was wrapped up in one season. It just seems they are throwing together another season for the cash. I hope that isn't the case.

So thrilled this is getting a S2. I have some reservations but the first season was quite good at giving attention to its supporting cast of characters and as long as the comedic value and writing remains fresh its a win win.

I enjoyed the first season a lot, but when it was over, I wasn't sure if more of this show would be a good thing. It might just be too much. But, regardless, I will watch S2.
