Man that makes me really sad when I think about it. I know that I acquire all of my anime legally. I don't want to derail this thread but... that just sucks that some of the most passionate fans are barely fans.
I buy whatever used dvd is cheapest and is marked with a working condition aka the condition that doesn't include having scratches all over it
Well at least that's something. I call BS on others though because you could legally steam anime FOR FREE from Youtube, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. And you would still be supporting the industry. Again, I don't want to be a derailer. Back to topic.
Read manga and light novels. I would also for a few years look at seasonal anime lists to see what I plan to watch while also checking anime news sites. During the course of a few years I would also save up money to move out of the country unless for some reason my life is so great that I would rather not move.

open myanimelist open some anime and manga.. go to bookstore see if there's still some manga.. buy some manga that maybe I will like.. then go home open myanimelist again.. getting bored after a few hours..
