Star Driver lots of mecha action with romance
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann but its not heavy on romance though
Infinite Stratos it has mecha action and romance too but more of harem

I'm working my way through this one at the moment and I second it as a recommendation for the OP.

Edit:
However just note that the episodes are quite long as opposed to the norm of ~25 m.

Thank you all for the tips. I saw the two seasons Kyoukaisenjou at Horizon and I was completely hooked, I'm anxious to the 3rd season and have been looking for an anime that I can say "this is also excellent"
