not going as far as to call this bullshit....but either you have a reallly deep problem dude, or you are over-analitical, well you could just have some really great and dark imagination, but thats all XD
no offence intended of course, just dont try to find something that doeasnt exists XD

You can't really disprove or prove any theory, but you can argue about the strength (and puppet theory is pretty weak, as I think we can all agree).
Yes, you can. The onus probandi is required of the person trying to prove something, not the opposite.
I don't need to prove Santa Claus, Easter Bunny or God exist. They don't. THE END.
If they do, whoever affirms it needs to provide the evidence.

I don't know why there are so many people complaining those who are complaining this theory doesn't make any sense, because it doesn't.

Anyway, I find it interesting the person who thought of it. I wonder how many shrooms you needed to arrive at such a conclusion. The very first episode "disproves" it, when Yuzu is stopped at a store and a seller interacts with her, and her only. Of course you could play the Matrix card but then there's no point in any discussion if you're assuming everything someone sees isn't real as you could do it with anything. You could even say the real world in Matrix is actually inside another Matrix. Then on and on ad infinitum.

My main gripe with this theory is, as it's with practically every conspiracy theory, that it distances people from actually reasonable and sensible theories, as these kind of dumb theories bring in much more interested people. It hinders people having better discussions. I guess it doesn't matter since only illogical people would believe in these kind of theories and there shouldn't be much to discuss in Yuyushiki.

For the record I did ask the mangaka if there was any deeper meaning to all the death jokes, etc. but received no reply...

Would you mind hosting the image elsewhere? Instead of Photobucket? They have crappy bandwidth limit.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I decided to use Flickr, though they do have an upload limit, I could create multiple accounts.

And for those saying this theory is crazy, that's totally fine. For those who actually read the disclaimer, they know I said none of this is considered "true." I will reiterate again that it shows a different PERSPECTIVE of the series, not the actual truth. What is compiled as evidence are just a surprising amount of coincidences that are put together in one place. So let me repeat this one more time, since I am sure someone later on again will say this is pure bullshit, and in essence it is. It's a theory, not the truth. You are free to believe in whatever you want. If you don't believe in it and think it's pure idiocy, that's perfectly fine. No problem with that. If you believe in this theory, or at least pay attention to it while watching the series, kudos to you.

Another thing. As you noticed, I kinda got lazy halfway through. Expected since it takes me an hour to go through an episode and take screenshots, another half hour to resize, organize and upload the photos, and another hour to formulate some ideas and post an update. With an average of 30 pictures per episode, it gets tedious and we all know I have better things to do than this. So basically, future episodes are stalled for now until I have a sudden random urge to somehow want to update it. You are still free to update any new finds that could support this theory, or evidence to disprove it.

And since I'm bored, might as well add in something. Since I never did the first two episodes and used a 4chan thread instead, there are some unproven consistencies that weren't explained properly.

It is clearly seen in episode one that Yuzuko was talking to a store employee. But did anyone else see the reminiscent dream-like aura? If you see the duo speaking to someone that Yui doesn't know, be sure to check if dream-like auras are present. It could just be a flashback.

Final note: For those who know of Umineko, I feel like one of those players using the Red Truth to disprove/prove logical or illogical theories. But if anything, be sure to enjoy this series no matter what you believe in!

from the limited I admit manga reading ive done.. the anime ive completed .. and the various psycho-dramas ive watched .. this was a fun theory to watch people troll and joke on but you would need 2+2 to equate to 5 for it to actually be accurate.

Yukari states that Yuzuko doesn't have a mom, in which Yui responds surprised. During this scene, the words "Oh... I see..." is said, yet no one's mouth moved during that time. Perhaps Yui has accidentally failed her ventriloquism during this sequence. Yuzuko asks Okaa-san if she could be her mother instead, which of course is Yui speaking out. Yui, feeling guilty, decides to take back what she said by saying she is "still alive," though Okaa-san knows she is not.

"Oh... I see..." is said by Oka-san

Is this from the same source that made the eerily similar theory about Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita where fairies are just product of Watashi's imagination so she can cope with her difficult childhood and social relationship ?

Surprised to see people still responding to this post. To point out a few things, it's obvious a number of people have not read the disclaimer. Remember, I never said it was the truth, and my intention of this post was to provide a different perspective backed up with trivial evidence. I know the theory/evidences are flawed, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. I personally don't believe in it myself. If I seriously did think that this was all true, I would have titled the post "THE TRUTH OF YUYUSHIKI" rather than "Yuyushiki Conspiracy Theory". Remember, theory doesn't always mean truth. For those who believe I'm a crazy lunatic with lots of free time, one quick glance at my profile can show that I'm anything but. There's a reason why I stopped halfway through. I'm perfectly fine if you want to disprove/prove it, it's a discussion after all. Everyone agreeing with it does not make a good discussion. To tie it all in, this is not a troll post. A troll post would be much less sophisticated and be made to piss people off. So like I said, enjoy the series, you don't need to enjoy the theory.

Tl;dr If you believe in the theory, cool. If you don't that's fine too.

It's not about believing or not.

I just feel that the theory is very similar to the conspiracy theory proposed for Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita.
Even the hints with disappearing characters.
So, could it be that both theories came from the same source.
That's it.

I had fun reading this thread, it gave me the the drive to re-watch the anime with a different perspective. It's still entertaining with or without this theory in mind.

I've also been reading the manga looking for any more clues. But so far the content has been the usual; conversations among the three and Mom. However, there is a slight development:

Intriguing stuff...
Thanks for posting this thread alexpte!

While this is an interesting theory there are just too many times where Yuzuko and Yukari interact with other characters. In one episode Yuzuko is actually apologizing to Yui's mom for being loud and in another she has an interaction with Chiho at a bookstore. Not to mention Yukari has a family to spend her time with. And in the opening you can see Yuzuko interacting with Chiho once again. Also while you may argue the fact that Yuriko (Okasa) might be going along with all this It is never acknowledged or stated by her that Yui might have delusional problem

I would have believed this but to the contrary episode six debunked this C.T. just for the fact that Aikawa's friends.....merely mentions "whats going on out there" and Aikawa states that "their laughing randomly about potatoes" and the friend say "Those three are weird" woo i feel better knowing this be cause the first five episodes i have been thinking this C.T was real >.<!!!!!!

Interesting theory! Although this is just a mere speculation, way too much just for some coincidence though. It would be awesome if they added some hidden drama/psychological genre on the first place.

I'll never be able to look at this show the same way, because I found your theory convincing :(

Makes the show depressing.. but I'd like to forget this.. such a dark spin on one of the most feel-good anime lol.
