They imposed C&D's on the internet then only allow Americans to view the shows.

America =\= the world.

This desn't really affect me that much seeing as I DL all my anime, but still America only? Hopefully they will bring this worldwide sometime in the future, not that I really care, it's FUNimation.

As much as it sucks that it's not worldwide, FUNimation only holds the licenses for R1 releases -- the USA and Canada. They're not legally allowed to let people in other countries watch their stuff.

oh, these little earthquakes

Well, I think the keyword here might be *BETA*. It did just get released. There is always a chance for them to open it up to more places to access. But that's only if they can get the rights to do it. So who knows, if this goes well, they might be able to at least open it up to Canada. As for world-wide, I don't know. Maybe if there truly is enough demand for it then they might.

Lolol, that's exactly what I thought when I read the title xD

Maybe they just want to limit it to America first seeing as it is a beta, who knows? Perhaps they'll open it up to Canada soon after, it depends on the licensing aswell I guess.

Edit: just checked it out, and it works fine for me. But like others, I'm in the UK sooo...

Well, that's a waste I'm not from US. Anyway, I can still watch anime and I prefer downloading than streaming.

Well USA only seems a little questionable, works fine here in the UK.
But with the emphasis on dubs, some titles only dubbed and not subbed?! leads me to stay away.
Ignore the fact I've seen everything I'm interested on their site, and that downloading is still better than steaming. >.>
Quality does seem better than most steaming sites.
Guess it will keep some happy. Back to downloading randomness.

I just tried it and it worked fine, i'm in UK... However I wouldn't watch them because i prefer subs, however the quality of some of their dubs, namely Sukuran, Mushishi and OHSHC are very good compared to older stuff.

Well, this is definitely a positive step forward in bringing anime outside of Japan asap.

if they would step up their subs a little and release subs of older shows like mushishi, instead of only dubs that would be a little better. if they did it for airing anime, it would ease the strain on fansubbing a little. but America only sucks some serious cookies. Also I agree with the statement that funimation sucks, I watched about 10 seconds of the school rumble dub and just about vommited because it was so bad.

Should I be proud to be born in America or should I be displeased/angry/mad/etc. because FUNimation sucks?

Hmm, how come I didn't know you were from Aus earlier?

The Beta Video Player is also working for me. Quality isn't bad (this is coming from a guy that used to watch a bit of anime from Crunchyroll), but it can be a lot better.

Because you're inattentive? =p

And try fullscreening it at 1920x1200. Looks incredibly shithouse. And who the hell watches in a window?

I kinda doubt Funi expected anyone to have such a huge resolution! I had no idea they even got that big.

They're fully aware of it. It's been a standard development res for a few years now, and HD is 1920x1080 (16:9 as opposed to 16:10) which isn't far off it.

But streams are free, low quality products, not meant to cater to the HD market. Which is why it sucks.

Pretty simple. FUNinmation supports the McCain camp with the slogan "pro-American" meaning that they rank the US above the world. (>_<)
