Japanese movie company Stargate announced today that the gag manga "Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou" (Daily Lives of High School Boys), by Yamauchi Yasunobu, will get a live action movie adaptation to be released this fall on October 12th.

The movie will be directed by Daigo Matsui. The trio cast of the main characters will be played by Masaki Suda (as Tadakuni), Shuhei Nomura (as Yoshitake) and Ryo Yoshizawa (as Hidenori). The story will revolve around a cultural festival that the boys' high school organizes together with a girls' high school nearby.

The manga is finished and has 7 volumes altogether. The total circulation is over 2.2 million. It was adapted into an anime earlier in January 2012.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Didn't expect this to actually happen.
If you remember, at the end of the anime, something like this is mentioned, but I thought (and I bet everyone else did) that it was just a joke.
I don't know how to react to this, maybe this could be a sign of an incoming new season? Even though the manga was stopped...

The manga is not stopped. It has finished. The last volume, vol.7, was published in Dec last year and that is the end of the manga.

OH NO
Well, to be honest, not ALL live action movies I've seen are terrible, so there could be hope.
However much of the comedy in these type of anime usually comes from character interaction.
Since anime is just drawn, it's easy to make characters move and look exactly like you want them to.
But actors might not be as good. Whether they'll acomplish the same thing in the movie or not... we'll have to wait and see.

They can't do the exact funny expression.. It's not a good idea to make a live action out of it

A second season of the anime would've been much, much more preferable.

A second season would be better indeed, but it's better than nothing I guess. I've never seen a live action adaptation before, so this might be a good option to change it.

The basic elements are pretty simple in the anime...so I don't see why a live action-movie wouldn't work. Might check it out if I get my hands on it.

Is this going to be a one movie-length gag or numerous skits in one movie?

Either way, I'm going to watch.

But season two nao please.

just saying guys, the live action cromartie film worked out way better than you'd think and it was way crazier than this show was, so dont count it out just yet

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

Surprised me that those two were in Kamen Rider series before (One was Philip in Kamen Rider W & the other was Ryuusei aka KR Meteor from Kamen Rider Fourze).

This could work, but looking at live action adaptions of anime in Japan (especially comedies, just try watching the Lovely Complex movie) Iwon't get my hopes too high for it.

they should have worked on copying the exact looks (talking about the hair color (their hair colors range from black, brown and blonde only, hairstyle, which are actually simple and clothing) of the boys >.<

i dont know what to say, but definitely that anime is funnier, and im hoping, like every body else, for a second season!

Doubt real actors can do all the funny expressions that I saw in the anime. Good luck though.
