"Attack the Capital"

I don't blame Shakti for denying her mother. This certainly comes out of left field. Uso's newtype skills are in full effect this episode, as well. It looks like the League Militaire is getting real ballsy attacking the capital head on like that. Its risky, but effective. And makes the Zanscare leadership look VERY incompetent.

It's picking up, now this was a very good episode. I really like Shatki's character, I hope in the end it works out for her.

So they are already mass producing the Victory Gundam? No Gundam show ever thought about this.

HAHA this, I like how they actually are this time.

I love all the tricks you can do with the Victory Gundam, the mechanical design has been quite impressive in Victory so far. Especially that trick Uso pulled out as he escaped was pretty cool.

I really don't understand all the hate for this Gundam, when compared to, lets say Zeta. I find this just as good as Zeta. Or maybe the 'asspulls' come later...

honestly victory's worst stretch is over save for like 1 stupid as fuck death. Its pretty much a solid series to the end at this point

"I must get Shakti back!", "Let's find Shakti in ennemy territory.", "Shakti, stay here." What?! And then "Was it the right decision to leave her there?" ... of course, not!
I never expected to see a Haro be more useful than the Seed and Super Robot Taisen ones. Now that I think about it, I wonder who got the toy's rights after Amuro died.

What is the V-Gundam HEXA? I thought Marbet had a regular Victory.
Also, what exactly was the point of the mini-attack over the Zanscare capital (with almost no troops)? Looks like nothing was done.

3/5 At almost 50% of the show, I am now almost certain that Victory will end as a particularly vain series. We still have no clue about future goals.

@ZetaZaku What were the GM? Standardized mass-produced Gundam (RX-78).

@nacho99 @MyLonesomeCowboy Are those real brands?

@Sapewloth You can actually find someone who tested out an original V-Gundam gunpla (the little one at 1/144) and the bigger version (probably changeable):
https://youtu.be/aoO-dYLGdVQ
https://youtu.be/z2pBFi1XO84
https://youtu.be/ErDyT2LA-PI

I think there were some (Katejina) spoilers in the audio commentary.

About the so-called 'strategies', it was nice to discover them. But when the more the series went on, the more characters entirely relied on it and ruined so many parts when the Résistance was supposed to be a hidden formation (with what I suppose limited funds). At the end, it felt like a slogan or gimmick for the series.

@Sapewloth The Gelgoog (manga version), Nu, and Sazabi *_* When I read about BANDAI starting to sell gunpla in France again, I imagined buying those ones (those robots look great even to a non-mecha fan like me). Needless to say, I was frozen at the prices shown for our country (little models are far too pricy, I can't imagine what would those deluxe Ka. Versions be).
http://www.micromania.fr/licences/manga/gundam.html
In the end, I won't spend any cent in Gundam when this is the year for us (film trilogy republished in two weeks along with Zeta's first edition, sadly without any DVD version like in other countries, manga publication being pushed...)

About the ressources spoil, I would have better accepted it the professionals (the adults) didn't become so prone to it too. Or if it was ZZ.

Anyway, sorry to ring you again. ^^"

Been a while since I actually watched this episode, but Jims were underpowered versions of Gundam with a lot of corners cut, which made them quite inferior to the RX-78 itself and Zakus. I assume I made that comment because they actually made a 1:1 copy this time rather than a cheap MP. Been two years so I really don't remember the units.

@Rei366 The Utah Jazz are a team that plays basketball in the NBA, and they were really good during the 90s. Shaq is the common nickname for Shaquille O'Neal, one of the most popular and famous basketball players of all time. Whoever was responsible for this is a big NBA fan

I didn't catch the NBA Easter eggs at all : cute!

The last half of the episode was so ridiculous though : I don't see any valid reason for Uso to leave Shakti in Zanscare's capital of all places after looking for her for so long. Who the hell cares that she's the Queen's daughter? If you guys are on opposite sides you're gonna become enemies eventually, you should've figured that much. That being said I understand the point of the docking ability a little better now: all the tactics employed during this episodes were extremely clever and mostly relied on the fact that the Victory has detachable and interchangeable parts. Makes me wonder if the V Gunplas are half as cool as the anime suggests.

@Rei366 Thanks for the videos! Not quite as flexible as I would've expected but it still really makes me wanna buy some Gunpla one of these days (that Nu Gundam in the intro looked really nice).

I can understand how the whole docking tricks thing would become more annoying in the future as the pilots keep relying on it: those tricks look pretty neat the first few times you see them but it's definitely a huge waste of valuable parts of the suits, which as you said an organization like the League Militaire shouldn't be able to afford. Meh, not like I'm not used to Gundam shows not making sense.

Haro proved its tactical worth. I felt sorry for it as it got fried by the electrical surge. The decision to leave Shakti and the lot behind was a curious one, though.

Great episode.. albeit the stupidity of Uso leaving Shakti behind.. because Maria is your mom.. what?!? Shakti was obviously shaken by this fact, and wants to find her surrogate mother.. come on Uso. Also, I was thinking Shakti was going to get killed when running to hug Uso.. since nothing too shocking has happened in the show so far.

Love the easter eggs! Did not notice that at all till reading this thread!

At the halfway point of the series and I'm surprised the hate this show accumulated over time. I've come to the conclusion people simply gave up after a couple of episodes because of this narrative that this is not a "true Gundam" series due to some goofy moments. How ridicules. This show (for me) is already more enjoyable than Zeta, and just as good as ZZ. Seems like the same thing happened to ZZ: the first several episodes sucked (which, btw, they did) so I won't complete it and stick to the narrative that it was the worst series in the Gundam franchise. I thoroughly enjoyed ZZ more so than Zeta, although the first 10-13 episodes were pretty terrible, and the last several reverted back to being goofy which was too bad. With that said, the middle of the episodes I thought were fantastic and well done. Anyway.. :).

I can actually appreciate Uso's thinking by leaving Shakti behind. I think it shows that he cares enough for her that he's willing to let her (theoretically) be happy with her biological mother, and it may also have to do with his own desire to be with his own parents. It's a far cry from the selfishness you might expect from any other protagonist. Now, whether it was a good idea or not, or if that's even what she really wants, is another story.

I really like how Haro is more useful in this show than in all other UC installments combined :p

But damn those battle tactics...they're really something. Did General Grievous borrow his famous attack from Uso? xD

Though I was thinking they were going to live Martina in the hospital...they took her back, it seems.

P.S. With Katejina taking photos of Shakti and her mother using a hidden camera I guess she really did become a spy...for the wrong side.

All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

I agree, this is following the ZZ route: kinda stupid in the first half (Victory is worse imo, it's offensively stupid where ZZ is just whacky) and great in the second.
Haro confirms itself to be OP. I'm starting to think this will end with the green ball leading a robot uprising of some kind and enslaving humanity in less than a year :P

Leaving aside how dumb Uso was for leaving behind Shakti, good episode, I love how Haro is an actual character in this series instead of just a cute mascot.
