I disagree with those Gar suggestions minus Macross 7 and MS IGLOO 2. I do, however, support Enma-kun Meeramera as historical and if it can get that I also nominate Blood Plus for historical since it too had an alternate history in the 1970s for the setting:

Oh, and also http://myanimelist.net/anime/27939/Afro_Samurai_Pilot is missiong in the GAR. And all the Votoms movies, OVA etc., only TV series is added as GAR http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?q=Armored%20Trooper%20Votoms. Also http://myanimelist.net/anime/28685/Tough_Guy! to GAR, the MC might be an instect, but on hell of manly insect.

Alright, I'll add these titles in the next few days when I get home.

I'm not sure about Kampfer and Little Witch Academia. I verify each title through AniDB or other sites, and didn't see any mention of "mahou shoujo" for these. I haven't watched Kampfer beyond the first episode, but it didn't feel much mahou shoujo-ish. As for Little Witch Academia: although it contains witches and some magic, there isn't anything resembling the true mahou shoujo genre (someone mentioned transformation sequences, daily monster, pet sidekicks and other tropes). I'm afraid Rozen Maiden doesn't fit this description either.

If I'm wrong, please say so, preferably with some examples proving that these series should be listed there. Same for titles that are already added, but don't fit - these suggestions are welcome too.

Kampfer also has pet sidekicks and magic oriented fights.

As for Little Witch Academia: although it contains witches and some magic, there isn't anything resembling the true mahou shoujo genre (someone mentioned transformation sequences, daily monster, pet sidekicks and other tropes).

Technically it does have monsters in it the characters fight, it's no less magic girly than Rayearth.

In Rayearth the girls start off as regular girls in the mundane world, are transported to a magical world and only there do they have magical powers. And Mokona acts as their mascot for the first part of the story anyway.

Little Witch Academia on the other hand is more like Harry Potter. It's a world in which magic is common place and simply something that one can study like any other subject. Wonderful anime (saw it for the first time last night) but not Mahou Shoujo.

For some reason the Eureka Seven movie and OVA version of Macross Plus don't show up in the romance achievement despite being categorized as such:

Looks like these genres were added somewhat recently, and our DB version was outdated. Thanks! These titles should now work as intended.

I'll add the suggested achievements soon, thanks for your posts. I'm still not sure about Kampfer and LWA being mahou shoujo, will need to read more about it.

I already suggested it in other thread, but how about we get dementia genre achievement instead with the classical 25-40-60-100 threshold? Dementia is all about "My mind is full of fuck." and it certainly deserves an achievement. I could try to think about stuff like name, picture and description if this idea will be taken seriously.

Well, Utsu Musume Sayuri is a dementia genre now.

But:
I you want quality, I recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion (and The End of Evangelion which is a sequel), FLCL, Serial Experiment Lain, Mind Game, Koroshiya 1 The Animation: Episode 0, Airy Me and Midori-Ko.

If you want pure WTF, I recommend Popee the Performer, Nami, Chocolate Panic Picture Show, 00:08, Agitated Screams of Maggots, Extra, Kago Shintarou Anime Sakuhin Shuu, Nido to Mezamenu Komori Uta and Good-bye Elvis and USA. For manga, I recommend Uzumaki.

I think it's more "Magical Girlfriend" than "Magical Girl", but eh, maybe.

I can't remember if this was ever suggested (or was ever once included), but 6♥Princess should be in the mahou shoujo achievement.

Mahou Shoujo Meruru, despite the title, doesn't belong to mahou shoujo category:
1) she's classical witch: robe, hat, staff, nothin' even remotely close to classical mahou shoujo outfits,
2) no henshin (magical transformation) = no difference between "civil" and "magic" forms,
3) it's hentai, there are practically no action (=battlin' monsters), just a lot of sex.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Movie: Lagann-hen Special - Viral no Amai Yume, despite bein' part of TTGL, doesn't belong to GAR category, it's just silly comedy: no epic action, no epic poses, no epic phrases, the only epic thing is a level of silliness.

Kampfer is not mahou shoujou, 'cause:
1) henshins, for the most part, are hardly "transformations", more like "some cosmetic changes", and
2) they battle not monsters or pure Evil or whatever but between themselves.

End is not a sequel, it's alternative ending, and of abysmal quality to boot. The main series is "WTF" as in "wow, so deep & psychological" while "End" is pure brainless action as in the "BL00D! True, but it's a total parody of the mahou shoujo tropes. In some ways it's more mahou shoujo than some of the other shows that count towards the achievement.
