You're gonna have a bad time when the new series actually start part 3 when you've already watched the OVAs -You just kill the excitement. Well that's how i see it.

The OVAs are okay, but not as a replacement for the manga series. It covers the basic plot of the manga, but lacks the charm and much of what made it fun. It was good for fans of the manga, but meh as a standalone. Don't bother.

If you absolutely must continue the series right now, I'd recommend buying the VIZ releases instead of watching the OVAs. They cut a ton of the battles from the manga and/or condensed a bunch of fights.

It's also rather odd that they went back in 2001 to do the first half of the story, so if you are one of those that can't stand watching older anime, watching ep. 8 onward will be a big disappointment.

I believe the Viz volumes are out of print, and some are ridiculously expensive online.

It is better to read the manga or wait the version of David Productions. If you want to watch the OVA, you could do after reading the manga. There are too many missing scene.

Well, i live in Brazil so there is not a official release version of Jojo here. I will wait for the David Production version, then. I wish they don't take too long :(.

Thank you o/

The OVAs also don't have any fabulous music.

In fact, the soundtrack is rather dull.

Well dude, i'm gonna wait for david's part 3.
Anyway i haven't read the manga yet, and it's a good change to look for the first 2 arcs.
