Comparison of Start:Dash! of ep.3 and ep.13

A very good find Symbv :)

I love the fact that it was in stereo so I could hear individual track on each earpiece. I gotta say this mixing is actually pretty pleasant except for Kotori's chipmunking voice popping up now and then >_< Not to be against Milalinsky but I wish she would rather tone it down a little.
The chipmunking voice of Kotori needs some getting used to, but it is also the moe-ness of her voice that gets so many to become Kotori's fans :-)

ThangLong said:
Also, it was amazing how the two tracks diverged, and then joined again toward the end. As much as I like the first Start: Dash, the second version definitely sounds better and more professional. It is such as great way of showing subtle improvement as discussed xD
Indeed this is precisely what many fans in Japan said. They really took care to make sure the two versions are synched and will join together after the divergence. There are a lot of examples of how the elements in the series were referenced back to early episodes and this is one great thing about this show.

Umeko said:
Another part of those two performances that stood out to me was that one movement of Honoka's - at "kirihiraku hazu sa" in the first performance and "nukedashita hazu sa" in the second. The shots mirror each other, except that Honoka's face in the first looks pained and troubled, but in the second looks happy and refreshed. A nice touch that I really liked (especially since that particular shot had left an impression on me from the very first time I saw it.

Also of note is that while the first phrase is in non-past tense, indicating a trial that has yet to be conquered ("will open up (to the future)"), the second is in past tense ("have broken away (from being lost)").
Very good observations!!
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

After seeing the diagram below, I have been asking myself why through all 13 episodes and numerous official art pics I failed to notice that the color of the ribbon of the school uniform is different for students of different years !!

In a different genre that relationship diagram would be even more interesting :)

I can see Nozomi and Eli graduating but Niko still seems young to graduate!

The card I got with No Brand Girls/Start:Dash!! yesterday says Eli in romaji, not Eri. I watch without subs but I thought someone said the Crunchyroll subs said Eri. I guess cards meant for Japanese people are different than subs meant for English speakers but I would have thought Eli would be more natural for English speakers...

A better way to see whose hand is who for the finger circle the girls made before the live:

Nozomi always says she is into the "spritual stuff" which in Japanese means stuff like fortune-telling and the spirit world.

Anyway, I find this fan-art very cute ^_^;;

Kotori means "little bird" in Japanese

The signatures are pretty easy to read. Love how they put good thought into the signature, signing the character's name with her own personal style.

Gonna miss it a lot! Hoping for a second season. A great last episode, really emotional. The group version of START:DASH!! was really good, it's my favourite song by them so it was great to see everyone get to sing it. Next stop - Love Live!

Okay for me this show had a strong beginning, a really weak middle and an okay end :/ I still loved it though :D I liked the music, the art style, and the characters. I just think they were a little lazy with writing and it would have been nice to see more performances. Also...those squeaky voices never shut up D: (all that squealing...)

The concept of their goal towards being school idols was what kept me on this show, not what they do as idols. But then their performance as school idols was a good watch too.

In the last eps leading to the final though, it felt rushed, Kotori went back, so there wasn't much time on what happened between, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't only Eri and Nico who wanted to talk some sense into Honoka, other members would too. I would've wished this would be 2 eps.

Nevertheless, it was still good. The other aspects such as the comedy were executed well, same goes for the drama as well but to a bit lesser degree.

Despite the flaws, This is still pretty damn good. One of the best of this season!

9/10.

A great anime, I loved the storyline, it was a bit rushed but still I would choose rushed over cliffhanger. The movement of the CG was a bit unnatural and the skin was too bright too but It's still a great anime that I would give a 9 out of 10. (I Would give a 10 out of 10 if they spend more time for the CG).

I hope they will make a second season where they actually get to the Love live!.

Great series IMO. I'm not a fan of Idol Music anime, but after IdolM@aster and Love Live, I'll have to add these to my lists more often. Though I think they're better watched all in one go. Also I Lol'd @ the #1 Love Live Ranking group in AWE :D.

Great series overall, I hope they make a second season and get into Love Live. 8/10

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Even the songs were all to my liking. And I especially enjoyed watching Nico once she converted from troll to butt monkey :-P

But I have to say that this show has serious bipolar disorder. Some of the drama was so over the top I couldn't even take it seriously anymore, just to fizzle out when the writers were back-pedaling to bring the upbeat mood back. I wouldn't have been surprised if one of them was killed, just to wake up one episode later saying "What a nightmare!".

It's pretty much guaranteed to get a second season (and they sure begged for it by leaving all plot threads hanging like that), but I'll have a very hard time deciding if I should continue watching. I enjoyed it quite a bit and it was never a chore to watch, but I don't like being played with like that.

So now i guess it's clear that all the drama was just so they can give us some closure when everything settles again since we had no Love Live contest.
Clever little trick i guess but we need a second season. Have to go ad check if it was announced since people say it sells well.

I'll be honest. This was one of my favorites of this season, but when Honoka pulled her stunt/quit, I felt the show was losing it's soul, and was prepared to rate it pretty average. However, the way they wrapped it up, I finally got it, and not only that. I think Start:dash not only as a beginning, and ending song, was a major spoiler if you look at the english translation.

I loved the ending for this season.

Fans in Japan are so dedicated to the show. They even made a chart to show how it is possible for all the participants to come back in time for the final live:

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Where did you get that idea? It only shows Arise checking the uploaded live performance of Muse after one of their performances. Nothing about the actual tournament of Love Live was shown anywhere in the episode or the series itself.

^ It was left intentionally obscure so that the anime can end here, or continue to second season. However, it did leave me an impression that Love Live! is finished since the implication is pretty apparent:

^ I don't think that way. I would think that if it is really Arise winning, it would show it in a grander manner, like showing them handing up the trophy in a ceremony. The way it was shown on the TV seems to be like a countdown of some weekly chart to me. But I agree it is left unclear.

Am I a bad fanboy if one of my favorite tracks on the OST, Notes of School idol days, is the A-RISE track Private Wars? LOL

68 tracks, awesome OST! All the TV size versions of the songs, BG music, I can remember the whole show pretty much by just listening to the OST!

The Pile / Maki piano version of Ai Shiteru Banzai! is great too, and her solo piano version of Start:Dash!!

Man, such great music in this show.

Are you a Muse's fanboy, or an anime fan? Coz I have no problem with the later lol XD. I've been waiting for Private War song so it's definitely one of my favorites as well. But Muse has many more good songs so I like them more :)

Can't wait to listen to the BG music, and I do want that Maki's piano solo ^_^

I am both a fan of anime and a fan of u's. A-RISE isn't an actual band, yet anyways, just three seiyuu they put together for the show but I found it interesting they went to the trouble of recording a whole track for Private Wars, more than the few seconds they showed during LoveLive!

The piano tracks are great as is the BG music. All the versions of the EDs are there, several solos, groups and all of them singing it which is fun, in addition to all the versions of Start:Dash!!

Edit: Interesting too that the soundtrack version of the u's Start:Dash!! is 3:09 while the No Brand Girls/Start:Dash!! version is 4:20 vocal (4:18 off vocal).

I love the dance arcade game track here. Anyone know the other anime which includes a dance arcade game track on the OST? Perhaps there are more than the one I am thinking of which is cool as it uses a version of one of the OP/EDs...

Some of the soundtrack music is very serious. Sounds more appropriate for Girls Und Panzer but somehow in the anime, it works!

68 tracks, over 140 minutes, amazing soundtrack.

Wow, an hour? How many songs does it cover? We all have seen the trailer of the event from Lantis on Youtube. The girls are all amazing. Oh, I wanna hear that new single now :)

I wonder why Yoshiro (Eri) was ot there as well. Sickness, Fripside's tour, recording for Railgun 2...? Man, I hope that it's just temporary and she stays with Muse. Now she is a lot more famous, I'm a little worry. We still need season 2 :(

Yes, almost a whole hour! It is in 1080i so it doesn't take up as much space on disc.

It has a lot of the duets, like Soldier Game with Umi and Maki! And they did the Nikorinbana songs too. It started with Wonderful Rush. They did Bokura no Live Kimi to no Life, Mermaid Festa 1 & 2, Listen to my Heart, after school NAVIGATORS, friendship no chance, confession weather... official Track list:

01. Wonderful Rush
02. 僕らのLIVE 君とのLIFE
03. 友情ノーチェンジ
04. Mermaid festa vol.1
05. Mermaid festa vol.2 ~Passionate~
06. soldier game
07. 乙女式れんあい塾
08. 告白日和、です!
09. after school NAVIGATORS
10. Listen to my heart!!

17 chapters so there are some banter sections too while the girls catch their breath, drink water and change costumes.

When Eli had to sing for the u's numbers they showed her in anime on the jumbotron... advantages of 2.5D girls I guess but there were spots in the choregraphy where you could tell she was missing.

Yoshino said in her twitter that she got really sick and couldn't make it for the New Years Live :( She would have been in Soldier Game too cuz she's in that trio.

Yeah its really noticeable/sad that you can see her spot missing in the choreography, but unlike idolm@ster's lives, here there's only 1 set choreography (matching the PV's). And since the movements are relatively complex (along with singing), I dont think the dance instructors expected them to learn a new set of marks and spacing when its already ingrained in their muscle memory. Even Mermaid Festa Vol1 (my fav), Yoshino/Eli is the designated center for that but they cant afford to learn a whole new choreography lol.

A much better show than I had anticipated.

It had a good mix of positive attributes: excellent artwork/animation, surprisingly engrossing plot, endearing characters, drama, back stories, humor, and catchy music.

The last two episodes felt somewhat contrived and rushed in a few places, but it's not that big of a deal overall.

From the way it ended, we're likely to see a second season of this series.

I give this show an 8/10.
Salmon is delicious.

I love everything about these super cheesy idol shows: the animation, characters (both intra & interpersonal), drama, humor, music, and story.

Adding μ's to my audio library.

Episode that ends in the best way, a little obvious, but otherwise it should not be like when we saw the second season? XD really cute design and characters all well characterized, a little too predictable plot, but a product enjoyable and graphically attractive, a second series would be a good opportunity to better assess the first!

The last episode was really rushed, if only it was extended a little longer it would've been better.
Loved the part when A-RISE supposedly won something grand like the Love Live! title and were on their laptop checking out μ's which were not on the ranks and nothing compared to them. Gave me them feels.
