First week's sales of Oda Nobuna keeps rising from volume to volume.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

IIRC the author doesn't want an anime adaptation because he was disappointed by the adaptation of his previous work, Azumanga Daioh.

I wonder why they still haven't announced an anime adaptation yet. It's like AMW doesn't want to make more money.

The author has made it very clear in public that there will be NO ANIME for Yotsubato, and that was only last year. So unless he changes his mind, don't hold any breath for an anime adaptation, though I am sure a lot of fans as well as people in the industry would dearly want an anime out of it.

I put it high in the list of LN going to get anime. I have a feeling that an announcement of its getting an anime will be announced within this year.

Great to see! Just wish they'd hurry up and print a 1-20 boxed set!

Glad to see Sakurasou selling well. Volume 9 is great! Wish it would get a second anime season but know I'm pushing my luck...

Well, deal with it. There is no way anything will oversell One Piece within it's first two weeks, unless something like Hunter x Hunter or Naruto releases a volume a week afterwards.

Also, nice to see Beelzebub and Area no Kishi doing well. Hope their anime make a comeback. Beelzebub especially, since it's manga is getting really good as of late.

In 9/10 cases, the worst thing about an anime is its fandom.

I think it's fine this way. Just like with Aria, the atmosphere in Yotsuba&! is something very fragile which would be hard to adapt without the right staff. And when Azuma was disappointed by the imho rather decent Azumanga adaption I doubt he will greenlit an anime about Yotsuba so fast, even when the staff holds some promise.

Terrible writing will stay terrible even without an anime. Just saying.

And I am glad Chihayafuru continues to sell well. Consistent high sales will guarantee a third season once they have enough material.

Also:
11, *59,207 *,263,852 Sakamoto Desuga? Vol.1

Swagamoto! Some mod should link to the MAL entry for this series, by the way.

You don't need to explain it to me, I already knew.
that's why I was using "Damn"
and personally I think Azumanga is pretty good series.

Because you sounded you still carry hope - your using "Damn" can mean wish for the impossible but can also mean a call for faster action for something already being planned.

And BTW, the link with Azumanga Daioh was denied by the author himself. So part of the story you knew is a denied rumor.

One thing I forgot to mention when I posted my reply is that the author also explicitly said his decision that Yotsubato should not get anime adaptation is NOT because of any issue with Azumanga Daioh, but just he thinks a lot would get lost if Yotsubato is adapted into an anime.

The source of all these, that he does not want anime for Yotsubato and that it has nothing to do with Azumanga Daioh, can be found in the author's own blog

Thanks, I agree with him on this matter.
Still, one can always dream about the way that would animate Jumbo, Danbo, Yotsuba, Yanda, Ena, Fuuka and all the other favourite characters of mine...

Would be hard at this rate. Both Bleach and Naruto sell over 400k (Naruto sells 700k in it's first week) and Beelzebub maxes out at 150k. One Piece, even more so, since it sold 400k in it's first day alone. In the rankings (WSJ rankings), though, it might be a different question, if that's what you were talking about.

Yea, that's a different matter. Everyone, including Tamura, knows it is almost impossible. But a man can dream, can't he?! It's satisfying to put all your competitors into your series, and beat them all up! Lol. It's self-parody, and since Beelzebub is a comedy, it works
Personally, I think this is the best thing everyone has done in manga in years!

I actually like Beelzebub more than the Big 3 (Naruto's my top from the Big 3), so I'd like to see it do as well as them. But alas, gag manga don't seem to do as well as mainstream shonen manga, much less one with a fan-following the size of the Big 3.

i don't think someone can beat Ichigo in Beelzebub, because he is a main character there :3

Because serious Shounen heroes are serious! Gags manga like Beelzebub and Gintama look trivial compared to the epic journeys of mainstream Shounen. I prefer gags as well. Not to put down the Big Three, but any journey for me is less epic than Berserk anyways

Such a shame too. Gag anime aren't as recognized for their content. You see Gintama' as rank #1 atm, but it still has a significantly less amount of voters as opposed to mainstream shounen. I wouldn't be as bothered by this if shounen anime didn't include so many fillers, or at least have good fillers, but in the end, that hope always leads to disappointment.

I actually like Beelzebub more than the Big 3 (Naruto's my top from the Big 3), so I'd like to see it do as well as them. But alas, gag manga don't seem to do as well as mainstream shonen manga, much less one with a fan-following the size of the Big 3.

Because serious Shounen heroes are serious! Gags manga like Beelzebub and Gintama look trivial compared to the epic journeys of mainstream Shounen. I prefer gags as well. Not to put down the Big Three, but any journey for me is less epic than Berserk anyways

Yeah, apparently Gintama and Beelzebub rank at around the top 10 of WSJ. But fear not, Assassination Classroom apparently beat One Piece in the WSJ rankings and that's a gag (it's even been selling like a mainstream shonen, vol 1 with a total of 700k, vol 2 totaling 600k).

I don't really have a preference on the genres, but if I were to chose one, it would be psychological thrillers. Which is funny considering my top 5 favorites has just one of them, that being Death Note, which I don't think will lose it's position anytime soon for me.

Four things anyone can understand easily: fighting, romance, suspense, and sadness. So they are more popular. That's true when you pull up the most popular anime in MAL. Comedy, in the other hand, requires some degree of cultural understanding and immersion. This explains in part why anime sitcoms don't usually fare well overseas, especially in the case of culture-centric gags like Gintama.

That said, the lack of popularity for Gintama is also a blessing for its ratings since almost all the people voting are committed fans already. I had had a discussion about this very topic in Gintama's forum a while ago.

Beelzebub is less popular, because he is not appealing for girls and kids. His audience is pretty much limited to more adult male readers.

I like Beelzebub and I'm a girl and started reading maybe 3 years ago? When I was 13 or 14? o.0

I mean, it's definitely not my favorite, but it is great. It also depends on the arcs. I don't have many manga I read weekly, but when Beelzebub get's good- like now- weekly here I come :)

I didn't like the anime though -.-

And I am glad Chihayafuru continues to sell well. Consistent high sales will guarantee a third season once they have enough material.

Hopefully.. Agreed with everyone else, Beelzebub is awesome, hope to see it making a comeback!! Till now I still don't understand AssClass' success, as one of the comments stated, it beats One Piece in the WSJ Ranking, I was like "WHUT?". It might be just like Nisekoi, staying on the top for a while, and after a while people will start to lose interest in it, same thing happened to KnB as well, but the upcoming 2nd season anime might give it a boost :) Never thought Nisekoi was great, just decently good..

Keep it coming. I so hope there won't be any anime adaptation. We don't need another SAO anime.

Terrible writing will stay terrible even without an anime. Just saying.

can't agree more. i don't know why they keep reading this SHIT

I'm still hoping the author change his mind though...

"Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou" (currently at the top 2), seems to be really interesting!

I hate seeing Bacanno on the light novel list...it reminds me that we're never getting a second season.
*cries*

No king rules forever. Even if at this rate it is looking like Oda is going to die of old age before finishing One Piece.
