Recently i've been Banging Out Anime and i watched 106 episodes in 4 days. About 35 episodes a day from after school till night.

Is this alot or not enough because i want to watch as much anime as i can before its too late and i grow old.

Am i going at a good pace?

Take it easy man, you've got plenty of time. At this rate, you'll burn out fast.
Enjoy it.
Don't waste it.
Savor it.

It's possible I did 110 episodes in 6 days, I could have cut a day out - but take it easy I mean it's never good to do that I remember I missed loads of classes thanks to LOGH haha

If that's just 4 days randomly during some holiday where you were really bored and really felt like watching anime, yeah it's normal, if it's always 25 eps per day then no it's not

Nah, you're fine. Life is short and you've gotta watch at least 6000 animes.

Haha, this reminds me of my argument here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=563843&show=0

The things we think up when we're bored in class...
With MALgraph’s recent update, I found one statistic particularly interesting: that despite having completed 300 titles and almost 100 days of anime, I've apparently bit off only 3.9% of all anime on MAL. I mean, sure I was aware how large the pie was, but I guess it never really hit me just how small my spoon was. To be presented such a paltry percentage after all this time… it's as if I have no right to even think that I have any authority on the subject, and it highlights just how little we each really know and have experienced and will experience, and just how much we each extrapolate and conjecture from our pathetic specks of the pie.

Back to the actual statistic, if my math checks out, there's apparently a total of 6.6 straight years' worth of anime out there. Which means that if you watch a sane average of two hours per day, it'd take you 80 years to complete all of anime up to this point. But of course, we get more and more anime every year so once you're all done up to 2013, you'll have everything between 2013-2093 to tackle, and it theoretically recurses from there ad infinitum (foolishly assuming we haven’t killed anime by then considering how lavishly we all support it financially). Bereft of time as we are, we have no choice: the #1 reason advocating our need to clone ourselves is staring us right in the face, all controversy against cloning hence overruled. For life, liberty, and the pursuit of animu.

Or forever be satisfied with our pathetic little crumb.

P.S. – Check your own "bite" here on the first page under Anime summary.
Thanks fri!

That pace cannot be maintained without ruining your life. Keeping that pace up for a week or less is probably fine, but you are cutting time out of something and eventually that will catch up with you.

what do you mean by It's too late and I grow up? Are you implying that anime is for children? Cause there are various animes for different age groups, and so the only way you could possibly stop watching is if you lose interest, or don't have as much time anymore. Age has nothing to do with it buddy,

so keep calm and enjoy the show.

What do you mean "or not enough?" There isn't some pace you have to keep up with in order to remain a part of the anime community or anything.

Just watch it at whatever pace you feel most comfortable with. Watching anime shouldn't be a chore.

Also, the pace you're going at won't lead to good things, I'd say. Becoming a 30 something watching that much anime all the time would mean that you don't have much going for yourself.

That's a normal pace if you're marathoning a large anime, I do about that when marathoning a large series. But if I'm watching shorter series then it's about 20 - 25 a day.

I did an average of 52 episodes per day while watching the original Dragon Ball...

It was a god tier experience... but, never again will that happen.

Now it's 10 per day at max...

I wouldn't go by those days; they could be inaccurate. Since I don't remember an exact date I begin and/or end a series my dates are inaccurate as well.

Mine says 581 days spent...

I'm not a NEET in any sense, and I've seen 4 times what that guy has...

clearly he's referring to the pace you watch at... Not the time you first got into the medium.

You will get sick. Only watch maximum of 10 episode a day. More then that
then you will have problems with your eyes in three month and there is no problem watching anime when you get older!

So you spent around 12 hours a day watching assuming you skipped the OPs,EDs and next episode previews?

It only goes by amount of episodes you've watched, 60 episodes = 1 day. The dates you started and finished the anime don't matter at all.

OK, thanks for that info. I really had no idea how the days/dates worked. When you plug in the dates, I assumed it counted the day you started to the day you completed a series, which is why I mentioned it being an inaccurate amount of total time spent.

Thats a lot in my perspective.
I can barely manage 4-5 episodes a day, let alone almost a full series (24 ep) a day.
Like most people said here, savor the episodes bit by bit.

Funny. I just marathoned 22 episodes today (longest ever for me so far), and I think that was an unhealthy pace for me.

Your marathon sounds like a lot to me. I can understand if you wanted to down one long ass series, but you probably shouldn't plow through series after series after series like this.

But what can I say? Funimation's release of Shana III (which I have not watched yet) coincides with my week off for Spring Break after my midterms. I am planning to watch the entire series (72 episodes + specials) back-to-back once the break starts.

That's kinda waste. I'll never get people who just marathon shows like that, or watch shorter ones in one sitting. Sure, it's good marathoning a show you watched when you have a day off, but marathoning for the first time? That's like reading a whole book in one sitting. Won't you remember more if you watch few episodes a day? Oh well, some people just want to finish as much as possible as soon as possible.

If you're watching a Shounen, then I wouldn't think so.
If it's a franchise, like Monogatari (don't think there are that many eps in that franchise), then probably so, since I would think that it'd be better to just take it in small amounts.

The Novel is like 20 volumes now...

The Anime is only 30 episodes in total, so that'd be less than a day of Anime watching for him
