| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What's up with the mask: Loved watching Arata playing this episode. Basically, he's like the star of this episode. Now, I am very interested in a potential match: Arata vs. Shinobu. Hopefully at least. I just he won't get disqualified.. |

| no WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Q_____________Q I was looking forward to him playing in the individual tournament! Q__Q Im still unfamiliar with the rules though. The individual matches are a couple of days long if I remember, or just one day? Will he be able to play in any individual matches at all? if so, when/how? Q__Q I cant wait for the next episode T.T If I believe so myself, we haven't seen Arata play karuta AT ALL since he decided to play again, up until now. I was REALLY looking forward to see how amazing and badass his playing has got and he did not disappoint! *__* Overall, it was a very sweet thing Arata did and that team he played for are a bunch of sweet hearts! Props to them for making it so far with only 3 members! ;u; <3 I really hope Arata considers making his own Karuta club in his school! ^__^ |
| It took 34 episodes but we finally see Arata play as a high school student. Last season I didn't even see him as a character and more so a plot device for Chihaya and Taichi. This week was a refreshing change in the focus on Arata. We were able to get a peek on what he thinks karuta is and should be. I've always been intrigued by the character but the author chose to never focus on him for some reason. The confrontation between Shinobu and Arata was a lot more light hearted than I was expecting until the end when she basically dissed everyone who plays team karuta. She's still one of the core enigmas of the show and will be keeping my eye out. |
| Glad to see Shinobu again. I was kind of expecting Arata to take the guy on without his glasses, but oh well :D Really hope Arata will be able to play... |

| Well that was pretty stupid of Arata to risk it it like that. He should of just said no. He has no obligation with those guys. like geez. And we didn't get to see any of Chihaya and the others. :/ Boo. And Shinobu didn't get to see the rally that she wanted haha. that was funny. meh ep. 3/5 since there was no chihaya. and the turn of events were unwanted. |

| lol, Shinobu's reaction to Arata seeing her was beautiful. As if we didn't know how keen Chihaya's hearing is we get a reminder all over again of how she thinks of Arata. Poor Taichi, as usual. A pity Chihaya can't read the depth of his feeling from his voice at times. Even though this issue with tomorrow has come up for Arata I'm glad he learned something about working as a team. |

| Arata remains the man to beat OMG! He has perhaps leveled up several folds when we weren't watching him! I am glad he enjoyed being a team player! I would love to see him transfer schools and join Fujioka Nishi! They would make an awesome team! 5/5 |

| Gahh so basically the episode starts out by foreshadowing a Shinobu v Arata matchup, and the end pretty much flushes those hopes down the pooper. Wonder if Shinobu will go the rally instead of the individuals, I mean why else would they show that and say 'the rally will be postponed to tomorrow' If that's the case, Chihaya could breeze through the individuals, though she won't be too happy about it.. |

| lol @ Arata's comment on the Queen. So she doesn't like group section, and she never join one. That guy? Tomboyish girl? is voiced by Saiga-san! Taichi is shocked about the opponents being all A level. lol @ Arata being forced to become another person in the group. Lots of flashbacks (and repeated scenes) from Arata. Oh, no... Miyu-Miyu's character's face is scary when he wanted Chihaya to show how good their team is to Arata. |

| Wow, I was really surprised at the amount of focus that was given to Arata this episode. For a main character (supposedly), he hasn't been showcased or explored very much, but this week's concept was a great way to bring us back to the Arata we got acquainted with at the beginning of the first season while also delving into the new, matured individual he's grown into. But nooo, I hope that ending is meant to be a red herring. I was so looking forward to watching him play in the individual matches, because watching him play Karuta is just amazingly enjoyable. |

| Just when I thought the cliffhangers were over with, they throw another in my face and make me not being able to focus on anything else other than "what's going to happen to Arata!? D:< " It's just full of bad news for everyone in this episode: Mizusawa is up against an all A class team, Taichi is worried Arata may be around and how it affects his relationship between Chihaya and Arata, and Arata faces a possibility of being barred from playing in the tournament, making his long awaited come back moot and reunion with his friends from Mizusawa more awkward. chinvincible said: Can I ship Shinobu and Arata. | God Arata, you're such a deadpan. I really like his seiyuu though, the cadence of his voice is very soothing. edit: Reading that he speaks with an accent, that really makes sense. He reminded me of the Korean actor Yong Joon Bae. |

I lol'd. Anyway, pretty good ep. I think it's dumb he joined them, but I also think its dumb he could be disqualified from the individual tournament. They're separate tournaments right? Why does that affect the other? It's not like his team won either. |

| I love Arata and he did develop a lot as a character by playing in the team tournament, but he had to have understood the consequences! Obviously they'd expel him from the individual tournament! (though they probably won't in this case) |
| WHY IS THIS SHOW SO GREAT T_T LOVED the Arata and Shinobu interaction ... poor Shinobu, her rally was cancelled! :( So they always used to play each other in school huh ... ah, I want to know more about that! :O Our lovely team has troubles ahead ... 5 class A players?! Holy crap lol O_O That'll be tough ... sorry guys, Arata won't be watching you! D: Seriously nice to see Arata thinking about the team vs. individual tournaments ... love how he got caught up in another school's run, but WOW DANG. He's good ... yeah, playing without glasses ... I'd totally forgotten about that happening in the past! O_O Coming back from 15 down ... so inspiring and how his "teammates" reacted :') Although of course that's not allowed ... and he got caught!
