THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Pretty exciting race :3

Damn, it looks like Jojo managed to damage Wham's eyes. Nice. Intense match is intense. Seems like Wham is being pushed to the limits in this race. The part with the hands didn't surprise me though with Wham.

I can''t wait for Lisa Lisa's fight soon.

The highly anticipated chariot race started and continued throughout the whole episode, ending with Wham revealing his special attack to Jojo.

Good episode, although I expected a bit more.

Too fast. The entire fight with Wham is almost finish. BT will surly finish before the 26th episode.

Given that
, it is possible for them to to go further than the original ending of Battle Tendency and use the last episode to reduce the animated pagecount in a possible Stardust Crusaders adaption. This would fit in well with the original volume 12 chapters as well.

5/5 for me. I watch the raw version. It was better than I expected imo.

One of the key elements makes the fight so much fun, is that everyone plays a role. The key player, the commentor, the fodder, and us audience. It's like watching a sports event with your family and friends. Also you don't really have to force yourself to accept the participant info-dump. And that is what this fight so amazing. Although it isn't over yet.

In other words HALF-TIME!

More like Wham destroyed his own eyes to get himself "switched" into the 'recovered shocked fighter' mode. Jojo did manage to damage Wham's arms though (which is what got Wham into such shock)

Actually I have a feeling that LisaLisa might not need to fight after all. It is hard to top this chariot race/fight with another one. I expected some twist for the whole fight to end.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

It's more than half time, more like 5mins to go, 2 tries down. Wham is going to go for the razzle dazzle all-or-nothing play to snatch it back from defeat.

"Stop. Hammer time."

I love it...

Someone please tell me Jojo is going to slip his hands into Wham's severed hands and use a ripple to control his veins/nerves and then just wear his hands like gloves, that would be so beautiful/clever/gruesome... or probably don't tell me cus I guess spoilers..

The chariot race was truly magnificent to behold. Twists and turns get churned out at a speed befitting the nature of it.

It's funny that you should post this, as I imagine that this is essentially the expression a vast majority of us had while watching :P.

What is there to say about this episode? After the one where Caesar died it's easily my second favourite one to come out of this adaptation. As a few have noted (and you should really avoid reading the following if you don't want to be spoiled)...

That aside the next few episodes will be a compelling watch, I really want to see what they do with the final fight :D.

Woah the battle was pretty fast and I'm pretty sure it will end even before episode 26. Does that mean we get to see Grandpa Joseph :D

Crazy battle as always. Jojo never failed to troll his opponent.

By the look of it, part 2 will probably end before episode 26. Will be awesome if there is teaser for Part 3 before the series end.

The fight wasn't rushed. If you go back and and actually read the chariot fight then you will realise almost the whole thing is made up of full page spreads or pages depicting actions and no dialogue.
The lack of dialogue in the fight is why it went so fast, and in my opinion I a full episode fight scene is still a pretty long fight scene.

I cannot wait for next weak, that ending when roundabout started was just so perfect!
I am hoping that part 3 starts as soon as possible.

Am I the only one who think that fighting with Joseph is not such a good idea? I mean not only he cheats (I wonder what his gentlemanly grandfather would have thought of his grandson), but always come up with some crazy trick to drive his opponent bananas, and then kill you.

Wham my dear it doesn't matter how long you lived, the day to get trashed has come.

Hahaha first dubstep and now Sean Kingston o.o

confused composer is confused

Wham's arms shocked me but the explanation was pretty underwhelming "that's all?"..everything is just "I used a ripple"

The ending scene was awesome though

4/5

PS: I hope final mode isn't some kamikaze explosion

Using the ripple is the only way to inflict any sort of injury onto the Pillar Men. Instead of just going jeez, he used the ripple, think about how he used it in that situation.

What a tense episode, this battle was amazing although it's not as good as I expected. I guess I love the clever tricks part of JoJo and it's hard to make them better than they are already.
The ending got me by surprise, it looked like he exploded but there's no way it's just a simple suicide attack.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.

Really fun episode! Loved the whole chariot setup for this duel! To think JoJo would come up with something clever at the very start of this duel was expected!'

The mental switch was damn hilarious, I was never expecting to see Wham that shocked due to his failure to see through JoJo's tricks. Sticking his eyes out and rely on a sensitiv horn from his forhead is just as insane I would have expected from this show.

Looks like Wham ended the episode with the upper hand, and the fight will most likely conclude in the next episode and maybe we will see the start of the duel against Cars and our favorite dame Lisa Lisa!

This show is just fantastic! Loving it so far!

Another intense episode, unstoppable and that cliffhanger damm. i want to know what Wham is trying to do in manga arghhh im holding myself for another week.
Loved the chat between Cars and Lisa. Lisa´s voice is so epic.

Oh, is Jojo the first anime playing Dubstep?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I don't get it: Why do you complain about everyone using an established system, when the use of the system itself is creative? Such a system is a common trope in action/adventure focused Shounen and here it's used rather well.

Because the established system is not a system, it's like Senju DNA, it's supposed to be the answer to everything but it really doesn't, because it's pretty shallow.

There's no such thing as "I just used Nen, there's 4 basic types, 5 advanced types (so far), 6 sub-categories, versatility of each subcategory and combination of which and the fact that they work in an actual system makes for an endless amount of ideas.

Systems that actually make sense and can explain things on their own: Nen, Alchemy, Death Notes. (hell even Jutsus and DF do a decent job)

This is just a ripple, damage here, damage there, plot twist here and there, what to expect? A damn ripple (and a piece of cloth maybe), the explanation itself was lame. "I just wrapped it around you right before it happened lol". Shallow, not really elaborate at all, not smart...

Same for the rock thingy, seriously? The surprise was that I didn't expect the ultimate lifeform (and the writer) to be so silly...I mean

How's the use of the system is creative.

Distracting your opponent so that you can disable them with a sneak attack is not smart.

Okay then. xD

^ What really surprises me is why you didn't bring this up in Phantom Blood, as the "Ripple System" was waaay more limited there.

In some ways I do agree, the ripple itself is a simple combat system on paper, but the trick is the application the users utilise. Caesar fought with BUBBLES (be honest, how many other characters can you say do that?), Lisa Lisa enhances hers with her Ripple conducting scarf (increasing potency and range) and Joseph uses his along with his clever sleight of hands and outright trickery. I'd argue that its not the Ripple itself that is unique, so much as the its application that the Ripple users find for it that make it memorable.

The ripple system isn't that creative. It's the users.

@juusan@Redux the bubbles are merely a shape it takes though it might be so, but the applications are limited as well, pass it through liquids, special insect-y scarves sponsored by straits and something in-between, I'm talking specifically about Jojo's trick against Wham in this episode, you'd go and think about how he did that arm thingy and think of many possibilities then they go and say: "nope, ripple and cloth again!"

and I'm like fuuuuuuuuu

You do realize that for Jojo to suddenly find a new way to injure the Pillar Men without the ripple would be a complete ass-pull at this point.
