Both versions of Hunter X Hunter are nice. I you like adventure anime then you might want to check it out. Keep in mind that the older one has some filler but I think that it offers a bit more character development. The newer one has a more alert pacing. Also recommend Dragon Ball (not DBZ - that's a different genre), it's very funny and also a nice adventure anime.

I just finished Guin Saga & loved it. It's an adventure fantasy show with an oldschool feeling. That's no surprise considering it is based off a 30 year novel series started in 1979 spanning 130 volumes.(The novel series is sadly, unfinished. The author died from cancer. Such a shame.) I've read that the series inspired Miura's Berserk. Although, it's not as dark as that. It's more like 12 Kingdoms (Juuni Kokuki). It has 26 eps, and tells just the beginning of an epic adventure. Still, I really enjoyed it. I hope that one day more of it will be animated.

Guin Saga PV

The dub is a fucking joke though, so only watch that if you want to laugh.

@gINGEr I started watching 12 kingdoms 2 days ago. I'm 4 episodes into the show and so far is great. If Guin Saga is like this then I'm definitely going to check it out.

It's has the same feel to it. There are differences in story and characters. It's been a long time since I seen 12 Kingdoms, but it's still one of my faves. They are both obvious adventure fantasy though, so I'm guessing if you like one, you'll like the other.
