I just finished watching this anime, and I've been sitting here the past hour, just wondering why it's so good? I mean I know it's ... ( what's the words Im looking for)

IF youve seen it, you know why it's so special

Well in your opinion it's special but to me it's cliche and at first I was okay with it, but at the end they just ruined it for me and when I look at the whole series as a whole it was just how many ways can a girl with trust issues and a popular guy have so many mis-communications and mis-understandings. The last episode just killed it for me and I so badly liked this anime.

Of course, there's no definitive reason why this anime in particular is so special to I, yours truly, among the Shoujo genres and anime in general too. While, like everyone mentioned earlier, the storyline followed a more cliche progression, I think it was the characters and their interactions that made this anime so special to me especially considering the relationship between Yamato and Mei. Personally, it gave off the vibes of Ore Monogatari! to me which is my favorite Shoujo anime and thus I reckon it's just that I find such relationships to be adorable, heartwarming and touching. Yamato is seen to be a very caring handsome boyfriend even abandoning his bright show biz future for the simple but unique Mei. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun had a similar vibe to it but due to the sketchy and monochromatic relationship, it disappointed me but not this show even in the slightest. Additionally, there was the additional cast members who were just as fantastic as well, if not any less. In particular, Mei's couple of friends, Yamato's former best friend and the implementation of the princess-like Megumi. Like I mentioned earlier, the effect of the wide range of Characters. Secondly, the stunning and soothing music of this anime. My, the Opening especially, gave me butterflies in my stomach. It was just superb!
Of course, there's more reasons than just these but, like you said earlier, it does not really appeal itself as such. It's odd but true nonetheless...
