THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Great episode! Nice to see Lisa Lisa. What a boss. Dat training and mask. I liked Caesar's determination this episode. Anyways, pretty intense and I enjoyed watching the training. Coming through!

Nice OST as well especially during Jojo's scenes. Pudding.

The Roundabout training montage and the final TO BE CONTINUED arrow were awesome, as was the "Owner of a Lonely Heart" riff and the general use of music for the oil pillar. Voice acting was superb as usual and the nimation was good as well (especially compared to last episode).

Next time:
Stone Ocean adaption when?

Oh what do you know, looks like Gintoki wasn't lying when he said about training in another manga.

That training montage is fantastic and I know I've said this many times, but they really do know how to make good use of the music.

Messina and Loggins!? Wow didn't think Araki would pull those country artists out of his bag of tricks

I really enjoyed this episode but I wish this show had a bigger budget reserved for animation I felt like was watching manga the creators in Bakuman renact at times but David Production is doing the best with what they have. Really creative to just bore through all that training during the credits sequence! 1 episode for training in a shonen? I'll take it

Lisa Lisa is awesome by the way, when she cut Jojo's clothes during he first attempt to cheat his way up the pillar I knew right there she was gonna be cool as fuck(also when she smacked Jojo with the oar X D)

Awesome episode, Lisa Lisa seems like she is going to be a great character as the series goes on, lol at JoJo trying to cheat his way out of training XD, well it was predictable that his talent would be his way out in the end, but even so for a training episode it was highly enjoyable.

Lisa Lisa made my day.
In the end, Jojo and Caesar have daily fun with two overmuscolar trainers.
This manlyness was too much even for me.
Great episode, I didn't get bored like it happens with training episodes of other anime.

Everything about Lisa Lisa is a mystery.

Joseph was funny. I LOL'D when he wanted to take a break from climbing. Knew something was going to go wrong.

Anyway, Caesar and Joseph confirmed for bros?

Another epic episode, I like how Joseph creativity is kept in the level of awesomeness.

Also, I bet Lisa Lisa is a Prima Undine.

Lisa Lisa is more awesome than I expected. Much respect to her.

I love these trials but if anything, the days in this episode went too quickly at the end. A week until the fight already? I expected more time spent on training and not just a montage at the end. But next week look like an exciting episode as well so I can't complain.

The manga is pretty much the same way with the montage, Araki's never been much for training arcs. It would have been interesting, but I guess he wanted to get to the real action more quickly.

Fun as usual, though I have a taste for longer training arcs than series tend to give. Gaining new techniques can be fun.

Not to ask for spoilers, but I don't suppose we're going to get any explanation why Lisa Lisa and crew aren't just focusing on beating the pillar men themselves? More prophecies or just plot convenience?

There are some reasons and they'll be explained later.
Aside from them, Caesar is already her disciple and Joseph is really talented. Pillar Men aren't that easy to beat, so she wants to get 2 more strong fighters in her team.

Oh, I see. In that case, fair enough. I have a lot of respect for this adaptation since I keep hearing great comments about how accurately it follows the manga. I regret not having read it earlier but if you say that Araki wants to show us the real action more quickly, then by all means, I eagerly await what will happen in future episodes.

The only plot device (outside of ripple conducting matter) is the Red Stone of Aja (Asia) that has the ability to perfect the pillar men in conjunction with the Stone Masks which you see the mask with the hole when they awoken.

No prophesies, only really a destiny. The Stone Mask and the Joestar bloodline are intertwined.

This part of the manga was handled wonderfully. No complaints from me, aside from a spot or two where the low budget was a bit distracting.

When you are talking about the lack of animation, are you referring to that part where Lisa Lisa beats Jojo at the beginning and when she puts that mask on him? That was okay for me.

Yeah, you guessed it. I really hate that the water had to be so completely motionless as she was swinging on the boat paddle. Moments like that make me cringe a bit. x__x

People from other thread said that the "pig farm" phrase has been restricted.I do not notice that till they mentioned that, I wonder why they purposely restrict that word... 0_o

Great adaptation. Lisa Lisa looks good and they chose a good match for her voice. 7 days left until the wedding bands melt. Should only be about 3 more episodes before

This was amazing, the way JoJo went past that oil stream was badass.
I love how everything in this show has a logical explanation behind it.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.

definitely found a new favourite character in lisa lisa. she's already such a calming influence on the show - she's the exact opposite to all these melodramatic, constantly posing men and i love her for it. (i love the melodramatic, constantly posing men as well but it's nice to have a different character type thrown into the mix).

Woh that's one hell of a training, but well Jojo sure managed to learn something from that harsh training! And well it seems they pushed 2 weeks in that ED so lets see what the one week before the ring melts has to offer!

Lisa Lisa is so awesome, she's really cruel xD

Damn, that pillar seemed just too much suffering. But even again, the pillar got tricked by JoJo! That trap was sneaky though -.-

I don't know how being able to control water with his fingers will help him beat the vampire lord, but we'll see...
