Wow I like these new threads. Seriously.

I helped a bunch of people learn how to garden, tutored some people in high school, and have generally been a tool nice guy.

I haven't done anything recently though.

Most people on this forum are relatively young, so for most it's going to be a pretty minimal contribution. Mine would be the hours of community service I devoted during high school and a few hours of philanthropy I've done during college. Oh and that bum I gave $5 today. I'm a fucking saint.

As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

I've tutored a bunch of people for free, but every now and then someone will basically force me to take money. Charging people for tutoring has always seemed so counter-intuitive for me. Much of what I've learned has been because someone specifically took the time, their own time, to explain something to me. Feels weird to turn around and charge others for the same treatment. I've also worked as a camp councillor the past five summers; seeing kids smile and have fun is pretty cool. Especially those kids who can't afford to go to camp normally (I worked at a free day-camp for three of those years).

I know that in the grand scheme of things, that is pretty much shit all. For now, no one could reasonably use the word 'generous' to describe me, but I hope that one day that will not be true.

I eat. A lot. No, seriously, I cost like 20 bucks a day to feed.

In all seriousness though,

I gave a hundred bucks to a homeless guy

I helped a little girl find her mom when she got lost in a mall

I saved my best friend from getting molested

I (hopefully) have inspired other little kids to play baseball

I do the little things (holding doors open for people, etc)

I've payed for an old man's lunch at a restaurant when he was trying to count up enough change to pay for it

I've talked a good friend out of committing suicide

As a baby boomer, well I have done it all.

Added to the planets pollution levels, likely contributed to global climate conditions. Created incredible sums of garbage.

Consumed power requiring incredible sums of coal be burnt, and nuclear power generated radioactive waste (which no one talks about because it is one of those topics they don't like to think about).

Generated incredible amounts of consumer driven stupidity like all the dumb assed devices we seem unable to live with.

My generation gave you the internet.

My generation is the one that controls most software design.

I live a senior citizens life these days, so all I am doing is essentially giving rise to a need to provide for an aging population, which I added to when I had my son (he's one of you actually, hmm might even be older than some of you these days as he is now past 18, so technically not school age anymore).

Yep, I suppose you could say, I have given all of you teens a reason to really be depressed and disgusted and over all bummed out. Because while the world isn't going to end, it's likely going to be a bitch because of my demographic.

Enjoy life while you can, the bill likely will be arriving in about 10-20 years, and you get to pay for it.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Whenever I poop, I create the need for waste removal and sewer maintenance.

When I poop, I create jobs.

That's my contribution.

I've let a friend and her baby move into my apartment to be my roommate rather than being homeless. Helped her get her license, and also her license for cosmetology. Completely rent free.

Then proceeded to kick her out.
