This usually happens to me when I'm stuck on a series that I don't like. It's been over 2 months and I still can't finish the last 3 episodes of Rahxephon. I've also put Ika-musume on hold after episode 1.

I do that as well.

I can't start the anime very easily, but when I do I watch it all very fast and then start another series, I guess I have to get into an anime mood.
