| SAO made Asuna another typical princess to be rescued. Suguha doesn't exactly have a competition there. Why make a girl who's known to be strong-willed already into a plot device for a new game? :/ And then, just to introduce another girl who happens to be a cousin of the protagonist in a love triangle? If this thread is about who Kirito should choose, then obviously Asuna. Well I still need to finish it really to make a proper judgment. |

| Meh. None of them. I felt like their personalities were pretty much identical and there wasn't much shown of either of them. Mostly just scenes of them thinking "Kirito is such a great guy! I love him!" I know, I'm a girl, we think about our crushes often - but not that often. |

| Looks like Asuna is wining so I will lend my vote for Sugu. Asuna was interesting at first but she lost most of her good traits after knowing Kirito and followed him around like a lost puppy. Sugu is more tragic since she held the sort end of the stick regarding Kirito. Darn, that double rejections was really too cruel :/ |

| The author just wanted to write a character that was popular with girls through what he perceives as an ideal personality or his version of the Gary Stu. Asuna becoming damsel in distress was to be expected. Kirito is the main character and it was the best reason the author could come up with to put him into another game. Why include sugu? Because it's an mmo and a community thing so he wanted to keep that vibe. Who else to be the travel partner but a hot girl he can't date because incest. |
| I don't really like both of them, but I'll have to stick with Asuna in this case. Sugu has a weak will, considering that she could fall in love THAT quickly. And it was really selfish of her to think, "I can't love my brother-cousin, so I'll just have to fall in love with that other guy I met in the game so as to calm my heart." |
