| According to Planète-Jeunesse, it was announced at Chibi Japan Expo held in Paris that a producer John Chalopin and a French television company TF1 will remake a Japanese anime Mysterious Cities of Gold (Japanese title: Taiyou no Ko Esteban) into three new series, 26 episodes each. The show is scheduled for 2011 release. Mr. Chalopin didn't mention if any Japanese company will be involved in the remake. Mysterious Cities of Gold was originally aired in Japan in 1982. | It WILL be in French, since Chalopin and Deyriès will make it (Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysse 31, Jayce, Inspector Gadget etc...). From what I know, the series will be made in France/China and produced by TF1, which is a good thing to target the mainstream audience (TF1 is the biggest television channel in Europe...). No word about a Japanese company involved though. |

| Here in Canada we're forced to take french for at least 6 years of our life (or at least where I live), so if it does end up being in french, I can actually watch the raws. I haven't seen the original, but maybe I'll check it out. Maybe. |
