Judging by this pace the anime is on track to finish the anime at the end of chapter 50 which is the perfect spot to end it at. Atleast I hope so.. it would be a shame if they did an anime-original ending. Lol I always wanted to say that. He is lucky he is the MC ![]() |
-Adam- said: WrathSC said: well....time to find out next week how he survives lol Again... lol This is really the problem with using a lethal weapon for a battle series. Even with the next episode preview pretending, I just can't feel worried about Ryouta. He's not going to die, and they've pulled the miraculously ineffective bomb in the face cliffhanger way too many times. I like the show overall, but the fights themselves are pretty crippled by how contrived a near miss has to be. The Oda fight was a nice breath of fresh air by focusing on strategies and actual measures to win, but it was too short. ![]() |
Yay for flash backs but this is one case where knowing the history between the two of them is helpful, and like many hopefully mister "i'm a doctor" takes his exit from the show soon. ![]() |
Don't worry guys, he's the MC, he won't die. Seriously though, these cliffhangers are ridiculous, I mean we get it, Himiko and Ryouta are the main characters and they won't die (I was hoping they would, but nothing will happen if they died, well, the series would end), so, what's the point of the cliffhangers? First half was good, let's see where this is going. ![]() Modified by Kamka1, Dec 7, 2012 1:55 PM |
Sakamoto is kinda bipolar. The fight with Kira illustrates that he can be pretty ruthless and uncannily perceptive when he is in the heat of battle. This all dissipates when he isn't fighting and he reverts to the naive trusting peacemaker, which makes him extremely vulnerable. To be fair, he did sense something off about the doctor when he shook his hand, but he never acted on that hunch. ![]() |
pizza_012 said: wtf. Sakamoto. Soo Dumb. Why are you like that? /facepalms. One of the dumbest MC's ive seen. Oh well. We finally have a realistic MC and you...ughhh. I will never understand some people... QuiGonJon said: Dat fight. And wow, Sakamoto got NTR'ed in highschool 0_o Well, not exactly, since she wasn't really his girlfriend or anything. Annoying cliff hanger at the end though :/ No, it's still NTR, even if he's not dating the girl. ![]() Modified by ainky, Dec 7, 2012 2:42 PM ![]() |
I really hate date... That doctor is too misterious. At least they showed the part where he finally opened his true self. Btw THEY TOOK OFF THE PART OF SAKAMOTO AND KIRA IN THE HOLE T.T It was hilarious :] you guys should check it out. ![]() |
Paul said: They answered a cliff hanger only to throw another one at us. Great. lol Good ep :D Obviously he won't die. Plot armor. ![]() |
Man I think there is a certain line on how naive you can get. Ryouta reminds of that main character in Battle Royale, can't remember his name. Although that character was far worse, than Ryouta. ![]() |
Seeing how Sakamoto previously managed to escape so many deadly bim attacks, I don't think this time is going to be any different. Now that his manipulating facade has been uncovered Date doesn't represent much of an opponent in hand-to-hand combat, as opposed to the military guy. The only chance he has is to take advantage of the distraction provoked by the explosion to run away, hide and lead the couple into a trap. Otherwise he's pretty much dead. I think Sakamoto's naiveté is absolutely endearing. I happen to know someone in real life whose personality he reminds me of. A mind-blowing strategist but a sensitive sweetheart when it comes to feelings and social interactions. To think that I'll have to read the manga to understand Ryota's relationship to his mother and step dad better ~. ![]() Modified by lilgabiee, Dec 7, 2012 9:32 PM |
Date is one sneaky SOB. I hope they take him out soon. And Ryouta should trust Himiko's judgement more. In any case it was really sweet when she hugged him. Sakamoto's high school buddy really brought out the NTR rage in this chapter. ![]() "Perhaps there is a universal, absolute truth. Perhaps it justifies every question. Wow, Oda is a fucking cunt. What a dick move. I think that was too much feels for a simple flashback though. The NTR was a bit forced. ![]() |
Sakamoto will catch a grenade for ya, throw Taira's hand on a blade for ya~ I'm disappointed by this anime, it doesn't differ too much from the manga but it's still sooo much worse :/ And that "cliffhanger" is just annoying, as if anyone would believe that the stupid MC could die in this anime... ![]() |

I don't think the criticism of Sakamoto's behavior is warranted. The Dr never gave him any cause for suspicion, and went so far as to share resources with them. He probably attributed Himiko's doubts to her general paranoia. What I'm interested in knowing is how'd Himiko figure out what was in the case? ![]() |
Ryouta trusts people way too easily. This is the second time in a row an episode ends with a trap explosion. No doubt that he'll survive this BIM too, even though it looks like Himiko and Date presume he's dead next episode. Looks like Murasaki will meet Date again next episode and she undoubtedly wants to make short work of him. ![]() |
Well, Date IS a doctor that saved Taira's life and shared food with everyone. I think Ryouta would have better trust in him than with the others that he encountered so far, despite his naivety, hypocritical and pacifistic ways. Himiko is so cute! Anyway, I thought this episode was good. The Sakamoto/Oda past was fucked up lol. I'm wondering how the forehead girl and Oda got so "close" judging by forehead girl's vicious streak. o_0 ![]() |
Hopefully after this experience , Ryouta will finally stop trusting people so easily. And Oda sure is a douche! ![]() |
Really great episode, that was an excellent way to end the episode. we all knew this was coming when they invited Date to come with them to the woman for medicine. I'm pretty sure that most people weren't satisfied with the flashback story since it was so short, but I don't mind that much. I wonder how they will resolve. Looking forward to the next episode, really great series. 5/5. ![]() |
Ryouta is naive but Date did save Taira's life, shared food with them, and even gave him a preview of his BIMs. He presented himself as a competent doctor and hey call me naive but I trust my doctor lol. He was correct 2/3 times on his judgment of finding allies on the island. You can also argue that Himiko is insecure about men so she is generally wary about them, which resulted in Ryouta brushing off her quick dismissal of Date. Also women are better at picking up non verbal signals (body language etc). ![]() Modified by zzzeally, Dec 10, 2012 1:25 AM |

He wasn't wrong when he decided to trust Taira, then Himiko, so why should he start thinking differently with the Dr.? It's not because WE know that the Dr. is a bad guy that Sakamoto is stupid for not automatically acting suspicious, out of the blue. ![]() |
Oh really? XD Anyway I just started watching this today and I thought I wouldn't like it since I tend to deslike anime whose score is 8 below, I can't say I'm loving it but I dont hate it either, it's enjoyable enough. Is this following loyaly the manga? Does it end in the next 2 episode? Because it doesn't look like it. ![]() |
I think they cut out some stuff from the manga... 0_0 Like the scenes before Himiko told Sakamoto to remove the trunk... Ah.. Anyway, Sakamoto's not gonna die. PSH. Main characters don't die, two episodes before a season ends. xD Date-san is sneaky. D; ![]() |
Date-san said something about how nothing has changed in six months, and he remembers that building and found the medicine fairly quickly. Meaning he was a survivor from the last game six months ago. What if Date-san was the one that betrayed Murasaki-san? What if he was the one that collected 6 chips with her and then tried to kill her before being rescued by the helicopter? He was using the same tactic with the gang this time round too. I'm surprised he tried to cut ties with them so soon. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an awkward encounter with Murasaki and Date in a future episode... :) ![]() |

So we've reached the point where I dropped the manga. Now I'm in the dark about what's going to happen. I like the development. I kind of remember the manga making a big deal of Date being secretly a bad guy for several chapters... Here they made it quick, as should be, after all we can only take so much stupidity of our protagonist. And I don't agree it should have been a showdown, a one-to-one battle. We've just had a good one (dang, forgot about that "never approaching the trunk" thing, that was nice) and Sakamoto is not really the type to fight directly. Oddly enough, the shadow guy from the intro, the one who works in the crazy gaming company was long introduced at this point in the manga, wasn't he? Are they keeping him to be the big reveal in the anime? That's kinda weird. ![]() |
