| Wow, this really was very different from how the anime played out. Kaneki meeting Touka and finding out she is a ghoul was particularly different. I liked this pretty much. |

| I follow a big Tokyo Ghoul lover on Tumblr and their posts convinced me to drop the anime and go for the manga instead. :) So far I'm enjoying it! |

| Damn, that poor kid. Though you think he would've been concerned about getting a transplant from a ghoul at the very beginning. What happens to someone who is bitten by a vampire? A third or so of the time, they turn into a vampire. Organ transplant from a ghoul is a red flag, man. A red flag! |

| I just like how Touka casually holds the man's arm and hands it over to Kaneki with a cute face saying "do you want some?" right after saying she was not even hungry, but killed the guy anyway, while Kaneki is just terrified, because she literally just cut the man's head off in front of his eyes. I know it's totally normal for her, knowing that she is a ghoul, but she have already seen him before, so I actually thought she knew he used to be a human before, and yet I expected her not to understand why he turned into a ghoul out of the blue... or maybe she just forgot about him, because I think it would be hard to remember about every single customer that goes to the coffee shop... |
| And this is the point where Kaneki finds out that almost everywhere, someone under his nose is actually a ghoul all along. I like the Kafka-based themes. Touka still looks adorable even after killing old man~ I'm somehow curious on what other foods taste like as a ghoul. Eat more to satiate my curiosity, Kaneki! |

| So I thought season 1 was similar to anime but already there is a lot of difference. I like this chapter ,maybe I'll watch the anime after I finish the manga. First chapter was just normal but this chapter is good. the anime didn't add the kafka commentary and him meeting his friend after being discharged, And I even thought that the doctor did the transplant knowing that she was a ghoul, that was not clarified in the anime. I guess i have to view the anime and manga as different entities. Let's see how this story goes |
| How does that TV commenter know so much about ghouls? They aren't even sure if these 'creatures' exist. Also damn Kirishima turned out to be a ghoul too. |
