MAL ruined my joke :(

I wonder what is Parasyte ripping of from, as it is based on a manga that was being published in 1989-1995

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! It's such a dumb and misogynistic anime, with one-dimensional characters, unimpressive battles, childish and repetitive humor, but I enjoy it anyway. It was probably made that way on purpose anyway.

You mean Kougami, Makishima and Akane? For me, Makishima was the best character of the show but it seemed that they were trying to copy Johan Liebert from Monster mixed with the Laughing Man or something. Akane development was rushed and kinda inconsistent and Kougami was a cool dude but didn't get nearly fleshed out as he needed to be.

The premise of the show is extremely good, the world building was also consistent, makichima even though trying to make him interesting it came off as pretentious and kinda forced (all those famous quotes caused it), and i don't know if i'm over thinking this but i liked the swann's way symbolism (which was one of the best i've ever seen) also it just throws hints at your face about "the events to come" which was kinda nice, truly the ending of season 1 did not disappoint (some anime fail miserably at the conclusion so this was refreshing to see)

What about character development of Ginko from Mushishi. I don't think he had any major character development unless you count those flashback/backstory as character development. Mushishi bad anime?

I don't understand? is this reply directed at me, because i was talking about psycho-pass so this came of kinda of weird :P .... in any case i have not seen mushishi, and in many cases (most actually ) character development IS mostly back-story/ flashbacks , so what was your point exactly ?? :S

i did not know that, and it's good to know, thank you for this info, not looking into the age of the source material was kinda of duchy and sloppy from my part, i retract my statement as it seems others have been ripping-off parasite.

Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de

This show has virtually no plot. It is a borderline harem. Nothing ever happens.

But yet I still enjoyed it. It's one of the few shows I've watched that I have no idea WHY I enjoyed it. I have it ranked much higher than any similar show found in the same genre.

I'm not even that big of a Studio Trigger fan but I can't pinpoint any other reason why I enjoyed it. Regardless, if you enjoy non-ecchi harems with a small cast, give this a shot and let me know if I'm crazy for liking it!

It's a fun anime and definitely enjoyable to watch, but there's a lot of flaws with the show.

Akuma no riddle
^Like I said in my previous post.

Blood C
Shit characters, story didn't make that much sense, unnecessary amount of gore, but it's still a fun watch.

SAO is so bad but it's hilarious. I'll give it that, I had a blast watching it.

Also, Utapri. Standard reverse harem bullshit with incredibly tacky and corny scenes especially during the s2 finale, and yet I loved every second of it and can't wait for season 3. Shrugs.

I see your point. The foreshadowing and world-building were quite good in the series, although I have to disagree with you about the ending, which I found extremely lacking (maybe because I still didn't watched season 2).
Anyways, thinking more about it, Psycho-pass wasn't really that bad compared to other things I watched. I guess Kill la Kill would be a better answer to this thread (and I still love it to bits xD).

Elfen Lied

I found there were things I liked that I wasn't aware of before.. Also, my opinions of an anime will usually change given some time after I've watched it.

Heh forgot to add Terra Formars. Awful, awful series. But it was so sincere in it's awfulness that it somehow became enjoyable to watch, at least after they reach Mars & shit hits the fan.

Same thing here.

But it was more the comment section for each episode that was entertaining rather than the episode itself.

If the anime is enjoyable then that automatically means it is good. There is no such thing as bad and enjoyable in my book.

At least for me enjoyment and perceived quality are mostly separate. I absolutely love watching horrible movies with friends and mocking them, I've had more fun watching some of the worst movies ever created than some classics.

1) A good anime:
normally has more effort put into it and higher success rates in achieving what it's aiming for, examples: emotional delivery in certain sad scenes, character relationship development, etc... (all these require a writer with a brain)

2) On the contrary you have:
your every day traditional/generic/non-original/shallow anime (examples: kill la kill, cross ange, etc.. ) which has practically very little effort put into it (besides the graphics and the infamous "eye-candy" that most people search for which does NOT weigh mush when objectively reviewing an anime because they are considered goals that are relatively easy to achieve by comparison with other goals )

if you enjoyed 1 => that's a good anime
if you enjoyed 2 => then you should list it in this thread

The most enjoyable poorly written thing I've seen is probably Popotan. It had a lot of unnecessary fanservice (I later learned what the anime is based on and I'm glad it just stayed unnecessary fanservice) and even though the plot made absolutely no sense to me, I became emotionally invested in at least three of the characters, and there were plenty of laughs.

Dragonball GT when Toonami first aired it (with a good chunk of the early episodes cut out) was okay. I just wish they had at least brought Trunks along on the shadow dragon saga.

Only one episode but it's so bad, generic and filled with your typical lines it's kind of hilarious.

Same for me, sounds pretty silly.
I guess in a "so bad it's good way", but that's more of laughing at the badness of the show than "enjoying it"

Just like someone said, the expression might be better said as "so bad it's fun". Any way, I agree with you. The concept of guilty pleasure is somewhat abstract to me. Well except maybe some shows I enjoy due to nostalgia.

Guilty Crown. Schizophrenic and terribly written plot and all characters other than Shu have zero depth or characterization.

I loved it for the animation, music and direction which were all top notch and made an entertaining experience despite the overall package being incredibly lackluster.
