This episode was a real mixed bag.
Im torn between wanting to hate the timing of the "Dream" state to loving it for how it ended with Nia's ring.

It feels like it should have been in the "Sea" instead of now. But with the end....FUUUUCK.. @>@

Boota evolving was amazing.

I orginaly went "NO. FUCK OFF NO." When Kamina appeared...but. Simone saved the scene from what should have been bad news. I would have REALLY prefered it without Kamina though. Simone battling his own demons without the help of Kamina to free himself. It would have been a much much better scene, without Kamina.

This was really good episode. Kamina appearing and dead crew, I felt nostalgic. I also liked that dream part, where they were in another possible future. Just one episode to go and then it's end to one of the greatest animes of all time :D

I could even venture a theory that the whole maze was created just so that Kamina could come into play, without being revived for real. Yoko and Simon really needed that one last chance to see him. One of the episodes that opens the fllood gates every time. I also love that Simon's and Yoko's awakening takes place in an entourages strongly connected to their loved ones. It's so emotional and telling, that they are able to reject easy and trivial illusions because love and remembrance pushes them forward.
Kamina proved so NOT to be an idiot in this ep.

This episode, episode 26, is, in my opinion the most emotional and powerful episode in the entire series (possible exceptions are episode 8 and 27)

Firstly, episode 26 starts of with THE BEST starting sequence ever, in the history of any film in general. It was just SUCH a 10/10 moment, the music was there, the epic narration was there, and on top of all that we have Starlock Shimon shouting and screaming in the most manliest way imaginable. thanks to this episode I'm now permanently a fan of Simon.

Chouginga Gurren Lagann is DEFINITELY my favorite gunmen of the entire series, the design is........so..........BOLD. it makes Chouginga look so big and powerful! example below

and I could've swore the mecha bled blood tears along with Simon too. (that actually happend in the movie) more fcking +1s YEAH.

BLOOD TEARS FTW. SHIMON FTW!!

Every episode just manages to outdo the one before it. This one was no different. I nearly cried seeing Kamina and the rest of the fallen ones again. He managed to save Simon and the rest one last time.

I also lol'd at Simon punching fake Kamina twice! The final episode should be the best one yet!

I imagine that the anti spiral didnt plan on this at all. Kamina is linked to each of them and was a great force of anti spiral energy himself (but never got to fully delve into his potential.

The loose boundaries of reality in this dream-world must have allowed him to break through into their mindscapes from across the river of death and remind them of their own selves., have them free themselves from this trap.

and oh man Viral's dream world. SO MANY EMOTIONS STIRRING IN ME. ALL THE FEELS ;-;

Man is Kamina really just a plotdevice? He just seems like a character to further develop Simon's character and we don't even know how Kamina became the way he did. Him dying so early in the series felt like he was just an "insert this" character for advancing the plot. He didn't give much of an impact to me at all. Probably just me though, meh.

Simon and Yoko get inspired by Kamina to continue on. Viral's dream was sad in that all he wants is a family...even when he can't reproduce.

The final episode is next...hopefully the conclusion will be great.

Kamina. Viral's dream. *hats off* Favorite episode yet. Damn, fake dreams are really sad. Specially when you know it won't or can't happen anymore.

Salutes to Gainax.

Dai - Gurren dead member scene really made me shed tears for the first time.

5/5 for this ep. I hope the final ep is going to be a blast.

He didn't give much of an impact to you but for the characters in the series he did to the point that they don't even care about simon anymore if kamina didn't die simon will be forgotten by the others and all they can see is kamina. That's what I think.

Awesome episode though.

Regardless of what happens in the last episode, this show is now a ten on my ratings. Any one of the three illusion encounters, Kamina/Simon, Kamina/Yoko, Viral/family, would have made this a standout episode in any series. To have the three of them hit one after another was like getting your heart punched out three times....Just a superb episode....

Kamina seeing off Simon and Yoko was very moving, seeing how far they've come since his death and how they've finally made peace with it made this episode all the more powerful. Also I wonder if that was Viral's wife and child and they died before, I'm really glad he's come all this way as well.

Time to see how this all ends, reach for the stars and pierce the heavens.

Remember Viral and all Beastmen were cloned by Lordgenome. It was not possible for Viral to reproduce or have a family. However, it definitely shows that Viral's dream is to raise a family.

It's not that he's gotten soft, it's just that he's gotten a heart.
