He's apologizing? If his fans weren't understanding and supportive during this difficult situation then they have no right to call themselves fans... or humans for that matter.

Wow, what a character. He's got cancer and is going through numerous surgeries, but still actually apologizes to his fans for not being able to continue his work.

I hope his treatment goes well.

I think he should just end his manga and start to take a long break, what good is a good manga if the author is sick?

Togashi HAS health problems, too. I notice some manga and light novel authors are running into health problems when they're near or after the age of 40.

No, I won't. I have ZERO knowledge on the medical sciences, but I know what a terminal illness guarantees. :(

My other favorite author Kazuya Minekura, had to undergo surgery from some kind of tumor not long ago, though I hope it's not life threatening.

I agree with you-- and I think more fans should share this view. As a man who pushes himself for the sake of his fans, I think he'll be overjoyed to see the same concern from them i.e sacrifice

It's better for him to just entirely focus on getting better by ending the manga- he is just going to make his condition worse if he keeps on working.

I thought that series had long since been completed? One of my top favorite series of all time!!

Has the author been working on an entirely new series with the same characters, or something?!?

Well at any rate, I wish him well. :)

Hmm, that's not a good sign... I mean, there's two more volumes to go out of the planned 22 LN volumes. I hope he recovers soon and not end up like the author from Kaze no Stigma.

If he's got terminal cancer, there is nothing that can be done. I've seen many important people die that way. What matters here is that he keeps on living. That he doesn't give up. I wish him all the best.

Some people here are saying that he should drop his manga, and just focus on recovery, but I think in his situation, its such a thing that'd keep me going. It sounds like he's passionate about his writing, and that he does want to finish it. For a dying man, the thought of passing without completing his legacy must be equally painful, no?
