| Hey guys, this may be a stupid/weird question, but does anybody think nagi is a loli? Hehe.. I watched this anime because my jap friend told me it's interesting, but when i started watching, the only impression i got of it was that this is ecchi, and nagi is totally loli.. well, zange chan was a nice add to it tho.. altho she's obviously tsundere.. lol.. why did you guys decide on watching this anime btw? it's totally out of the popularity and rank rating.. zero no tsukaima fairs so much better than this.. | Of the two ways I generally define a loli, I'd consider Nagi one. A bit weak on full filling the second's requirements, though. In either case, I decided to watch Kannagi because it was airing. I generally try to pick up all of the shows in a season and drop the ones I don't like. I'm glad I did pick it up, it's pretty good, and I'm not a harem or moe fanboy. Though some of the recent episodes have irked me a bit, it's still good overall and I hope it'll get better from here on (and it probably will). |

"tsurepeta", "tsurupettan" means the condition in which a breast/bust is smooth and flat, in other words 'loli', or a 'lolicon' character, or a girl with such characteristics, or works or genres which handle these things. hehe.. this is interesting.. thanks for mentioning the term.. |

There is some ecchi but you can find it in almost every anime. I decided to watch it when I was browsing Autumn season titles and saw title "Crazy Shrine Maidens" ^^ "Sounds fun". Now I'm watching it because of hilarious sense of humor. As for ZnT, I'm not sure if comparing it with Kannagi is good idea. They're purpose is different and so they're much different. Kannagi is more like comedy, parody (mostly of otaku and some other things) and ZnT is... erm, ecchi rom-com? Something like that. |

Something like that. hmm, i wasnt really sure after the first few episodes, but after watching 5th and 6th, i have to say this is really more to ecchi romance comedy.. first of all, jin has a box of adult magazines in his closet, he blushes at nagi's leg services, zange chan is licking him all over, and jin turns into a pink red plum when he looks at nagi in cosplay.. i agree that kannagi is also parody (neta-anime), but it's certainly trying to idolize its 'moe' feature rather than parodying.. akiba is really just there to debate 'otaku culture'.. other than these few things, it has many similarities to ZnT, which also features a loli main character, and brings in the 'moe' till u drop to ur knees.. ^^ |

| I started watching Kannagi because it is currently airing and the trailer was awesome; living up to my expectations from that trailer so far. A great fun show. also, I wouldn't consider Nagi a loli, in-fact I never even thought of her as one at all- but that's just me. Also, use a more descriptive topic title next time instead if just 'Weird Question'.Such a title doesn't really hint at all at the contents of a thread. For example, this thread could have been about major spoilers that have happened / are yet to happen in Kannagi, and I don't think alot of people unknown to said spoilers would want them blasted at their face without warning. :P |

| Oh yay, I can still carry on this conversation here without the banhammar.:D This is my checklist/chart thing. Face/Head: 1. Are her eyes very large? 2. Are her eyes low on her face? 3. Is her nose small? 4. Is her chin unusually small? 5. Does the top of her skull extend very far? 6. Is her general head shape small? 7. Does her skull give off a roundish appearance? Body 1. Does she have a flat chest? 2. Is her stature short? 3. Is her appearance less curved or hourglass shaped? The more of these things apply to a person, the more loli they can be considered. Personally, I don't think these things apply enough to Nagi to consider her a true loli. But under the broadest of definitions, yes she can be considered a loli. That's the opinion I've been going with. And I've been watching this show for Shinto, Nagi, and for the general feel this show gives off. Or not to mention being animated beautifully. Just like Index. Kemeko DX is zany while being downright boring at the same time. Fast paced bleh doesn't outbeat slowpaced goodness when it's done right. If you can even call Kannagi that much slow. But it is certainly a slice of life. It's slow without being boring, like many slice of life's suffer from. And it has some of the sleekest animation to date in anime. When Kemeko DX is terribly dated animation. I know I've been calling a lot of animation sleek lately, but there are definitely a few recent ones that are stagnate animation, and older ones that are actually superior to new ones. |

| I belive the original meaning for loli is: a girl who still didn't reach her "legal" age. It doesn't matter if she is flat chested or not. How would you categorize Usa (from kodomo no jikan)? (Lol, thats something like saying that just by having big brests the girl becomes "legal". lol) Jeez, discussing this is making me start feeling like a criminal. Anyway, both in the ota meaning 1: (flat-chested) and the original meaning she can be considered a loli. Just as Zange and Tsugumi, and etc. (Heck these anime, what are they trying to do? lol) P.S.:in the ota meaning 2: (Personality) she deffinitely ain't loli. Why do i watch it? Because its fun. Why would you do things that you don't like, and don't have to do? This series give some good lolz. Something that rarely happens. |
| ah havent visited this forum for a while.. ^^ hmm well, i think there are a few ways to define 'loli'.. the first is probably the most popular in the west, the book 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov. I think this is where most of you guys derive the word from, which is an underage/very young girl. for me, however, I derive 'loli' from the fashion subculture in Japan, the Gothic Lolita fashion/cosplays, which is most probably influenced by Victorian children's clothing (i say probably coz this is from wikipedia). and this fashion is of course, popular among Japanese teenagers, NOT 10 year old girls. this fashion, of course is most prominent among flat-chested girls, and this is ultimately where i derive the word 'loli'. so for me, a 'loli' doesnt have to be a young girl below the age of 12.. coz if that's how it is, 'lolicon' would be just another word for 'paedophile'.. but i dont think 'lolicon' can be defined as 'paedophile' becoz 'loli' doesnt only refer to underaged girls, but also grown up girls with flat chests.. so, in this sense, i think nagi is a loli.. and kannagi was quite enjoyable and i liked it too thank you. forget the second question.. hehe. |
