| iMAL 1.3.1 has been released. iMAL now supports the iPhone/iPod 5 screen but no longer supports iOS 3.2 to 4.3. If you have a device running on iOS < 4.3, you should download 'iMAL for old iOS', which is the same app but for iOS 3.2 to 4.3 Thanks a lot to Amorii for testing the app and providing the iPhone 5 screenshots for the App Store. | Looking great on the iPhone 5! A suggestion I'd like to see is merging the anime/manga view with the synopsis information. When I tap an anime from my list, I see the main picture and basic information. There seems to be some wasted space here. Since the synopsis view is the same layout with different info, why not just display it all? You can have the airing/publishing dates and all that kind of info next to the photo, like you'd normally expect. Then scrolling down you have your watching/reading status options. Scroll down further for the written synopsis of the show itself. All on one tidy page without having to use that open link button just to see a bit more info. In my head, I'm wondering about putting watch status before the synopsis. From a design point o think it clashes with itself a bit. However from a usability point if view, I'd want those options at my fingertips. Heck, since you're getting into theme options, maybe UI swapping toggles too? I dunno, I think I'm thinking too much into what was an innocent small suggestion just a minute ago. |

When you tap the anime, the app only knows a part of the anime informations (not including the synopsis, for example). This is for optimization purposes (less data to get when you first get your list) and I have no way to change that anyway. You can notice that when you tap the "See Synopsis and Infos" action, there is a little loading indicator that appears. This is because the app is actually asking MyAnimeList for the missing informations. If I wanted to merge the two views, I'd have to query the server every time you tap the anime. I think it is better to have an update page that loads instantly than to have to wait for the informations to load before you can update your anime (even though I agree that it would be much better if there was no loading time). I could make an option in case you always want to see the synopsis and other infos anyway but I have a lot of other things to do and I don't think it's that important. |

| Just downloaded the update and it looks great! Thanks for this app, it's really the best thing out there for MAL. I was just wondering if there is any chance of ever adding staff/cast lists to the info? I feel like this is the only thing missing for this app to be really useful for me. Thanks! |

I know it's odd since I don't have that much entries in my completed list so it shouldn't be a problem, but it crashed anyways. Still works perfectly fine with the "old skin" tho. |
| The fact that it works with the Original skin and crashes with the Modern one is really weird, indeed. The only thing that comes to my mind is that the Modern skin uses more memory because it loads more images. Can you try to reboot your iPhone and run the app again? If that fixes the bug, then it's a memory issue. Also, can you give me your device model and iOS version please? I'm really sorry about this :( |
| Don't worry. I rebooted, worked fine while crolling but crashed when I tried to edit and entry. I have an iPod Touch 4G with iOS 5. |
| The UI is a lot sleeker than I expected. Good work with it. Two suggestions I'd like to make, and apologies if they've been mentioned already. One, I think it'd be great to be able to compare friends lists readily from the app some how. My girlfriend keeps binging on series and will text me at work asking what she should watch next. The app will load up quicker than the site so if I had a way to compare lists to see stuff I've seen that she hasn't, that would add a big feature I use MAL for. My second suggestion only came to me as I logged in to make this post. I had to log in from the suggestion area of the app. The app already has my credentials for logging my watches. Why can't it create a cookie for its built in browser? If that's not feasible, just have it attempt a login isinglass saved credentials as soon as the site loads from an in-app option. Anyway, keep up the good work. |

It does work for me. The On-Hold and Dropped sections won't appear if there is no anime in your list in these categories. Tap the "On-Hold" or "Dropped" titles to show/hide the anime inside the category. |
| Let's say I want to put Naruto in my Dropped list. [screenshot] When you tap Naruto, you can see its detailed informations. [screenshot] From here, you can swipe your finger to the left to see the editable informations (i.e. the status, episodes watched etc.). You can also tap the little dots on the top bar to switch between the two views. [screenshot] Now, tap the "Status" section and select Dropped. [screenshot] Tap "Done" and then tap "Save All Changes". [screenshot] Wait until it's done updating your anime on the server. Go back to your list, the anime should now be in your Dropped list. [screenshot] Note that you can do the same thing from the search screen. If there's any step you can't reproduce, please tell me. |

| I'm having problems with the app. I can't view any of my anime, like the anime page is completely blank. and even when i try to add new anime onto the list it disappears.  but my manga list is perfectly fine. |

| I have the same problem. This is not a problem with iMAL but with MyAnimeList.net. The API sends me invalid XML data, that's why the anime list is not displaying. (example with my list, on chrome I have a red error message) I've searched a bit and apparently, the bug occured when they changed the anime C (probably an unwanted invalid character in the database that's making the XML parser fail to read the data). I'm pretty sure all of you that encounter this bug have this anime in your list. (that's also why the manga list is still working). I've posted a message on the "Anime database modification" thread indicating the error and how it looks related to the changes made on C, and they told me to post on the support section. I posted the same report on the support section, but nobody replied yet. There is not much I can do at this point. :( (the fact that the app fails silently is a bug though, I'm gonna fix that) |

| I'm not getting all of the features in the 2.1 update. When I view a Anime/Manga, I don't see the extra info. I've tried reinstalling the app but it didn't work. I'm on a iPod 5th Generation with iOS 6.1.3. |
| Can you go to the Options tab, then Settings and check that "Use unofficial API" is on? If it's off, then I know why and it means I'm a complete retard :/ Anyway, turn that on and you'll see the extra infos. |

| Yeah it was supposed to be on by default but it seems I've screwed up. I'll submit a quick fix to force it to be enabled unless you manually turn it off. As for mal.oko.im, that's not possible. |
| It was probably on by default because you didn't change your settings between 2.0 and 2.1. Anyway some people are probably in the same case than iMK so I'm gonna fix this. |
